Krrish 3 (2013) is a bit of a mess. The film's greatest strengths lie in the continuity it maintains with its predecessors, Koi Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006), and the seemingly genuine passion from behind the camera to make a true superhero epic. Of course, Krrish 3 creates about as many visuals as it borrows from existing superhero films, but this attempt to stand toe-to-toe with Hollywood actually gives the film a slight upper-hand; its hero is actually heroic. Compare Krrish 3 to another superhero film released the same year, Man Of Steel. The latter was critically derided for its overabundance of destruction with seemingly no consequences, as the titular Superman fights Zod and his cronies with no regard for the innocent lives all around him. Krrish, on the other hand, takes care in trying to save any civilians caught in the crossfire of his climactic fight with antagonist Kaal. Perhaps the film's best sequence is when Kaal spots this "weakness" in Krrish and deliberately brings down a building in order to distract him. Krrish takes Kaal's punches while barely managing to stop the debris from hitting the civilians below, and ultimately takes the brunt of its force himself in order to save a baby. Is it cheesy? Yes. But is it also an extension of the heroism the film boasts as its thematic through-line? Absolutely. The film's other highlights can be found in its more character-driven scenes, hearkening back to relationships and characters established in previous films. Hrithik Roshan's dual performance as father Rohit Mehra and son Krishna Mehra is a pretty spectacular one. Their scenes struck me as the most interesting ones, such as Rohit injecting Krishna with Kaal's virus and Rohit's final sacrifice via sun-based technology, which he came to understand via his alien friend from the first film, Jadoo. Using the previous film's villain, Dr. Arya, and a familiar connection with our leads as the basis for our new villain, Kaal, was also a clever use of continuity. Unfortunately, as interesting as all the heroics and continuity may be, it simply doesn't add up to much. Perhaps if the film was shorter, or chose to focus more on character beats rather than action beats, it could better leave its audience with the sense that "good always triumphs over evil" and "anyone can be a hero," as it is so intent to. These are well trodden and clichéd superhero themes to be sure, but that doesn't mean they can't still work, or result in a great film. The film's biggest missed opportunity comes in the character Kaya, one of Kaal's mutants, who is capable of changing her physical appearance. Initially, she is tasked with impersonating Krishna's wife Priya in order to discover how Rohit was able to create an antidote to Kaal's virus. However, living with Krishna proves an eye-opening experience for the sheltered laboratory experiment, as she finds herself drawn to Krishna's kindness. She even gets a taste of heroism when Krishna, out of costume, saves a woman from falling to her death in a shopping mall, and Kaya catches the woman's baby. She is rewarded with congratulations from onlookers. All the positive attention confuses her until Krishna flat out explains to her, again out of costume and in front of the gathered crowd, what Krrish stands for and how brave actions on anyone's part represents that. How no one has figured out Krishna's superhero identity is completely beyond me. Kaya's experiences with Krishna ultimately lead her to switch sides and turn against Kaal. She helps Krrish to rescue his kidnapped wife and leads him to Kaal's fortress. For this, she is killed by Kaal and dies a quick, wordless death in Krrish's arms. If this summary of Kaya's role in the film sounds fleshed-out and satisfactory, it really isn't.Kaya is an interesting idea that is never really fleshed out as a character, her interest in Krishna stemming less from a desire to discover herself separate of Kaal, and more from a passing romantic attraction. This also results in a fantasy musical number in which Kaal dances and sings with Krishna outside the temple from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Here we find another of the film's hurdles; being a Bollywood production. I've admittedly not seen many Bollywood films, but the gist of those I have seen are romance and music. Krrish 3's predecessors did a fine job of integrating both, with Rohit and Krishna falling for their respective sweethearts with appropriately placed and fun musical sequences. Krrish 3 is at an immediate disadvantage as our lead is already married, hence the manufactured non-romance between Kaya and Krishna. Without the romance to drive the musical numbers, each one comes off as unnecessary and ultimately forgettable. If possible, I would recommend completely dropping any musical sequences from the proposed Krrish 4, or at least find a better way of integrating them, such as the circus sequence from Krrish (2006).Overall, Krrish 3 is only a slightly above-average film. If not for its heroism and flirtation with interesting ideas, it would be a totally average film, not quite terrible enough to disregard, and not quite good enough to recommend. As it is, Krrish 3 succeeds more than it fails, but those failures keep it from reaching the bar the film sets for itself, both in trying to compete with Hollywood and telling a complete story. P.S. If Krrish 4 ever comes to be, allowing Kaya a fuller character arc would significantly make up for Krrish 3's shortcomings. In Kaal's words, "Only those who are born can die," so it should be easy enough to bring her back.

Hrithik Roshan was an instant super hero when he shook open the Bollywood platform with his first film, 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' in 2000, ending the dominance of the 3 Khans. The Khans to their credit, slowly reestablished their place over the next decade. But the star power and head turning ability of Hrithik was growing tall ever since. The Greek god look-alike is unarguably the best looking big brand in India. Now he is all over the media space as his newest flick,"Krrish 3" has entered the 100 crore club and still growing stronger.'Koi Mil Gaya' and 'Krrish' were instrumental in cementing Hrithik's place in the elite club of Bollywood. When his hit maker dad Rakesh Roshan decided to extend the franchise, Fans started to go haywire. Hrithik roshan has also worked extremely hard on his physique for this film. But credit to the director who didn't over do it. We just got a look at the near perfect body which turned every man green and every girl red and wanting for more. Well to be honest he got that right. It was just the right dose. The first appetiser for any film is the trailer, and in the case of Krrish3, I was extremely disappointed by the first look. The film looked like a stolen collage of many big Hollywood flicks, including the Superman and the X-men franchise. So to the section of the crowd who follows Hollywood was obviously disappointed. But to be fair to the director, the film turned out to be much better than the trailer. That was because of the way the director incorporated emotions to the film. To be precise, its the overused, but still real life family bonds that you can see in the Indian families that made the film worth watching. The action sequences and breathtaking audio-video effects was the highest selling point of 'Krrish 3'. Considering the fact that an Indian film handling such complex and futuristic graphics and animation assisted sequels is in itself a big achievement. And as far as the quality of the effects go, The team nailed it. Absolute thrilled and proud to see such perfection in Indian films. but the negative side of the same coin is the originality of action. All the major action scenes were cheap copies of famous Hollywood flicks, and that didn't go well with a section of the crowd who lives Hollywood. To the good side of Rakesh Roshan's luck, the majority crowd in India hasn't seen X-men or Superman and for them the gimmicks of Krrish, the superhero was out of the world, and they passed them in flying colors. There is absolutely nothing to talk about the story of the film as nobody cared about that in the cinema hall. Either it was the charm of Hrithik, or the magnanimity of the visuals that kept the audience engrossed. We can have better conversations about some mindless twitter trends than talk about the story of 'Krrish 3'.The biggest positive that an ardent film goer can pull out of the film is the honest performances by the actors. They were competing against each other and were constantly outdoing their co-actors. Hrithik was just eye candy in its purest form, but his portrayal of Krishna's father Rohit Mehra was beyond his years. He maintained the childlike body language of Rohit from the film,'Koi Mil Gaya' and increased the intensity of emotions in his face. Anyone who saw 'Krrish 3' will acknowledge the hard work and dedication Hrithik puts into his work. Bravo.Prianka Chopra's Priya was the one who didn't have much scope for improved acting, but she made up with her well toned physique and screen presence. The Villain Kaal and his side kick Kaya left a lasting impression on the cinema goers. Vivek Oberoi is always known for the effort he puts in his roles. He was effortless as the dark soul, the paralyzed Kaal who was keen on his own interests and bringing calamities upon calamities to the world. We can see that his character has been inspired from the X-Men, but Vivek delivered a commendable performance as the Villain who loomed dark over the screen and injected fear in the heart of the audience. Kangana Renaut also was sharp and deserves a pat on her back for the portrayal of Kaya, who is the equivalent of Mystique from the Xmen. She looked beautiful, sophisticated and evil. She fell in love with the Krishna and Kaya's transformation from good to bad afterwards is canvassed beautifully. Well done Vivek & Kangana. very very honest performances. To sum up, the film leaves better impression than its trailers and produces some good quality effects to entertain the crowd, but its lack of original action sequences is its Achilles' heal. I would have gone with 7 if not for the stolen Hollywood scenes. But the good performances of the actors gives the film and extra point and 'Krrish 3' gets 4/10. Director Rakesh Roshan still has the touch to mesmerise the audience, but next time he should come up with something more original. I recommend that everyone should watch the film for the good direction, honest performances and mind blowing execution of the visual effects

The vfx and special effects are one the Plus Points for the film.Quite an ambitious project and clearly they tried to put in everything in such a small budget. Appreciated !The songs are not gud but tolerable in the flow of the movie. The story is some what predictable. The characters mainly the bad guys are inspired from the X-men.I was skeptical before watching this movie because after watching so many near-to-perfect Hollywood superhero movies I wasn't sure if I would like this one. But I must say it didn't disappoint. All in all a good movie, not worth missing. If u keep your expectations a little low you'll love the movie.Final Words Rakesh Roshan is an expert director, no second thoughts about that but there are certain elements in the movie which he could have done without for better. Certain duologue's are over the top and cheesy, music is uninspiring, screenplay is weak and unimaginative. It resembles to a lot of Hollywood franchises which makes it hackneyed and makes us less proud of the finished product. The movie is not a great cinematic experience but isn't boring and crappy also. Good Acting (Vivek, Hrithik,Kangna) ,great VFX and an almost good story makes the ride enjoyable but bumpy due to certain roadblocks and speed breakers. If we compare it with the other superhero movies that Bollywood has churned out, Krrish 3 will top the list in terms of quality, acting and direction.
