Kochadaiyan was packaged as India's answer to Avatar, but it is nowhere near Avatar. The film is a very amateurish attempt at animation. All the characters are cardboard characters. Surely, rajini deserves better. We come to know now that the rudrathaandavam & even some scenes were done by other artists since rajini's health did not permit him to strain himself. The animation in "Chota Bheem" is much better that kochadaiyaan.Music by ARR is OK.KSR tries to salvage the film with his screenplay but he is let down by poor direction by Soundarya rajini.A huge disappointment for everyone. No wonder, it bombed big time.

Only Rajini Fans LOVE this CARTOON !!! (this is NOT 3D !! ) Anyone who calls this 3D GRAPHICS is BLIND AS A BAT or just plain liars !!Comeon guys please be honest and just say that this is a CARTOON !!!Even Deepika Padukone (Actress in this movie) is FURIOUS WITH RAJINI for making her FACE LOOK WEIRD in this movie. And so she has NOT SUPPORTED THIS MOVIE, after it was released (her face really looks weird!!!).Rajini's daughter thought that 3D GRAPHICS IS SO EASY !! Well its NOT. It took JAMES CAMEROON's AVATAR(2009) $US200++ MILLION to make a REALISTIC 3D ANIMATION, Because PERFECTION IS VERY EXPENSIVE. Rajini's daughter must have used some lousy/CHEAP GRAPHICS companies to make this... thats why it LOOKS LIKE SOME CHEAP CARTOON. This Kochaidaiyaan CARTOON looks like the quality of the USUAL MAHABARATA CARTOONS that India has been making for YEARS!!After ENTHIRAN, Rajini had some good name... but NOW KOCHADAIYAAN has made Rajini into a JOKE. My NON Indian friends are REALLY FUN OF THIS MOVIE. I'm really SAD FOR RAJINI.

This movie rides a mixture action, drama, emotion, love, thrills, twist and turns, war and of-course the rajni bang.. with his unique style and his ever remembering dialogs...Definitely watchable for all the thalaivaa fans out there u would enjoy it as hell... This is the second try of the (performance capturing Technology) by the Indian Tamil cinemas after maattran.... but it didn't go well as expected.... I would say animation flaws were their... and tat rajni in real effect was not present..... However, the plot of the film was well written to catch the audience mood.... Story is great... A must watch movie in theaters i would recommend..so guys enjoy the experience of the movie... DON'T MISS IT..!!

Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin has pulled two impossible feats, making India's first motion capture animation movie successfully and also achieving a disaster with Rajinikanth-an impossible feat.Kochadaiiyaan, has everything going good for it from the time Rajinikanth gave his nod. An ensemble cast of Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Sobhana, Sharat Kumar and Nazir, plus Eros stepping in for distribution and finance and above all Rajini fans giving the movie their full support. Plus the movie had state of art technicians working on it and they managed to achieve the best of the best, from the dimple on Deepika's cheeks to her cleavage and to the wrinkles on Rajinikanth's fingers, everything was taken and displayed in the minute detail.Alas! With all this the makers forgot the primary ingredient which makes up every movie-THE STORY. After you finish marveling at the technical brilliance, you start looking for the story, which clearly disappoints and for the first time ever, you have people yawning and stretching in a Rajinikanth Movie. The movie is 118 mins (2 mins short of 2 hrs) but it seems so long drawn that it might as well have been 4 hours long.Rana is a trustworthy general in Kalingapuri's army and his strategy of including POWs into the army gives good results and kingdom achieves lots of victories. Rana then decides to vanquish Kottaipatanam, a neighboring enemy state and marches towards it with the entire army. Suddenly Rana defects taking the entire army with him. It is revealed that Rana was an undercover soldier from Kottaipatanam.Back home,Sengodagan (Sharat Kumar) the prince falls for Rana's sister Yamuna (Rukmini) and the hero uses his charm and has Rishikodagan (Nasser) the king agree for the wedding. Rishikodagan performs the marriage but banishes Sengodagan as he dared to love a common woman. Vadhana, The princess (Deepika Padukone) is head over heels in love with Rana and decides to confront her father. At the very moment, an assassination attempt happens on Rishikodagan and Vadhana foils it and surprise the assassin is Rana, who has been plotting revenge for the unjust execution of his father Kochadaiiyaan. As written above, the animation is flawless, everything was taken care to the T. You even have the late Nagesh in a comic role and the song picturizations are simply awesome especially the peacock dance with Deepika Padukone and the amazing pre interval fight sequence between Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone needs a special mention. All in all if Soundarya had taken proper care in the story department, we would have had an instant classic. Only pray that she does a better job in the sequel (oh yes! We were warned about that in the end credits)
