Knight Rider 2010 Trailers

Loosely based on the popular television series of the 80's, this movie brings the story into an apocalyptic time and a new "KITT".

I watched a disc of Knight Rider 2010 which I hadn't seen since my childhood, ironically I'm writing this review in 2011, so luckily the Mad Max style apocalypse has not happened yet. Three cheers for the Action Pack TV block! In my opinion if you take it as face value as a post apocalypse car action movie its not half bad. The thing that struck at once was that even though the Knight Rider conventions are there (talking car, charismatic loner on a mission of justice) the critics are right that its just not Knight Rider. The TV movie Kight Rider 2000 and the 2010 Knight Rider remake were more legitimate than this one.I love the old western style dialog and narration. I love that the on-board computer is a sexy sounding chick who quips one liners to the hero, as opposed to a stuffy English voice. I like how the hero starts out as an outlaw with a low opinion of himself, then builds himself up. I like how in this version the hero has a young wisecracking sidekick- a Robin to the hero's Batman.Around this time Virtual Reality had become possible with 1990's computers, so it was the latest buzzword at the time. Even better was that film was able to portray Virtual worlds much better than the early computers of the time with camera tricks and funny lighting effects. To respond to the other critics who posted that wanted Hasselhoff or high tech cars in the film; obviously for a TV movie of the week they had no real budget, and so could not afford Hasselhoff or extremely expensive high tech props. Some problems I had was I did not like the silly sci fi costumes for side characters (like Kabuki, the sidekick as a Rockabilly, the Redneck with the comical large mustache) On the whole it's a nice diversion of nostalgia that suffered from exploiting the Knight Rider brand. It even has monster truck smashing scenes.

So bad, it's brilliant! This film, seems to have nothing at all to do with the TV program, we all know and love No M.Knight, no Knight Indisrties & most importantly of all, no K.I.T.T.OK, there seems to be a lot of the same people, we've seen in the 'Knight Rider' TV show. All in all, it's a load of old rubbish, that is if all you'r looking for is another 'Knight Rider' movie, like 'Knight Rider 2000'If, on the other hand, you like, cheap, crappy versions of 'Mad Max' then your in for a treat!

This 'movie' is rarely discussed or aired on TV. There is a very good reason why, I'll explain.Aside from the name in the title and a guy driving a car, this movie really has NOTHING at all to do with the 80's TV series 'Knight Rider'that most of us grew up watching. Instead this movie is more like a low budget Mad Max sequel with cyber-punk undertones. I'll try and sum up the movie for you: In the future earth is barren and polluted, there's this guy with a big truck who smuggles people into the clean air domes (makes ya think of Total Recall, eh?) he meets up with this scientist guy who wants to steal his organs using this soul-stealing crystal thing, the immigrant smuggler guy's girlfriend gets her soul trapped in the crystal instead, immigrant smuggler guy then puts the crystal into a car he built from scraps of a Mustang. The scientist villain guy is thwarted, a joke is made about doing some matrix-ish cybersex interface thing and our heroes drive off into the sunset. The TV movie before 2010; KR2000 was crud but it at least had some relevance to the 80's series, Team Knight Rider was also terrible but still had ties to KITT and The Foundation. KR2010 is crap. Mr. Hasselhoff and Mr. Larson; if you have any sense, don't let 'Knight Rider: The Movie' be like this. Base it around the pilot ep where Michael Long is shot, please... We're tired of made-for-TV garbage. If Dukes of Hazzard can have a decent theatre movie, can't Knight Rider?

I have seen the movie Knight Rider 2010 and do agree that it is not the best.in fact,it is extremely poorly produced.However-I think Tug 3 should get his facts right.James Doohan is in Knight Rider 2000,and not Knight Rider 2010.Dont' roll over my leg KITT!In any event the original is a great show which, although very eighties, still carries enough punch to make the grade.Reading about how some of the stunt work was done makes the big budget shows of today a bit naff.some of KN might seem a bit cheesy, but then again, some cheeses have a great flavour.and if super pursuit don't blow your mind just see a black pontiac close up-KITT is timeless.cue purple sunset
