After watching this I didn't feel as though I watched a Justice League movie. This turned out to be a bunch of smug jerks that didn't want to be a part of a team. Now I expect this from some of the members notably Hal Jordan, Billy Batson and Barry Allen but not from Superman and Wonder Woman. Superman and Wonder Woman are supposed to be stoic warriors that do what is right. I am all for taking a new take on a character but this one didn't make sense to me. There is also little character development that goes on during the course of the movie, or for that matter any real lesson learned by the heroes. The entire movie is basically all action. The movie reminds me of the alien attack in The Avengers movie but just the attack no real background to the characters. There are also a few unresolved plot points that kind of frustrated me, as I was wondering how they were going to explain that but instead the credits roll. The only thing that I can say is really good about the movie is the banter between Hal and Bruce as they probably had the best scenes. I don't think this is by any means a must watch movie but it does feature Darkseid. If you want to see him in a movie before his eventual appearance in the DC Cinematic Universe then check this out.

View MoreWaves of parademons attack and Earth's main super-heroes band together in defence somewhat reluctantly (because they don't like each other). This animated movie tells a very simple story of a huge but unfocused invasion, fought off by well-known superheroes and Cyborg. There is some origin stuff (including Cyborg), but not enough given that these are the New 52 versions of the characters. And that means that Superman is not a character of humility and nobility, he's a brash young man driven by impulse. Wonder Woman is not a character of gravitas and depth, she is shallow and temperamental. Cosmic policeman Green Lantern, responsible for a huge sector of the galaxy, is a trivial smartar$e. And so on. These are not the characters many viewers will be expecting to see, and they needed more explanation. The film, which has virtually no substance behind the almost non-stop action, is a wonderful example of just how misconceived DC's New 52 reboot was: just about everything which made its characters so iconic has been abandoned and replaced with something not as good. At a stroke, overall quality has been diminished by a material amount.Lamentable.
... View MoreThis movie was written in mind with the evolving audience. The plot was solid considering the immense task they had of depicting the origin unification story of JL plus the origin of Cyborg. It is very light and fairly comic at times. Sure some stuff was left unexplained but it hardly mattered so much anyways as to curb on that precious time constraint. Darkseid was a bully yes but he did have a course in mind. Total colonization of Earth! Wonder Woman was simply adorable. Shazam was boisterous indeed for an adolescent. ( Shouldn't he technically be a part of Teen Titans?) Flash was given justice for his part. Superman was..well...Superman! Batman was not exaggerated at all you never know what kind of modifications he has made to his suit. Green Lantern was motivating enough to get the job done by all the rest of the hot headed heroes and finally Cyborg is promising. And I am eager to meet with him again. Overall great characterization. A very justified plot. Scope for a sequel and amazing design and visuals. Tired of typing..I'll just watch the movie again!
... View MoreWe are once kids, learning our ABC, then read our first comic book which later on introduced us to the world of superheroes (and their supervillains). But then we found that we have to find a job to (then) provide and protect our loved ones. Not a hero, just responsibilities. We are torn apart from our childhood and escapist dreams. The superhero world has to rejuvenate itself to suit newer readers. And this is what Justice League War brings to us. I have not had the time to follow New 52 and this movie really brings justice to me for forsaking the dream. It is amazing in just over one hour it can tell the origin of the League and some of its characters. They said Warner has been planning for a big screen Justice League movie. Hope it can learn from this one. And also hope the later Superman/Batman movie can at least match this movie.
