Four young offenders and their workers spend a weekend in the remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. A minor incident with locals rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare.

I watched this film based on the trailer and perhaps the trailer ruined it for me. Most of the kills are shown in the trailer so there weren't much new to see in the film. The kills are few and far spaced out in between each other with the longest dry spot happens soon after the first two murdered victims. Because of this, the film doesn't build any kind of momentum and the dialog feels monotonous, the whole film was very sluggish for me. The comedy is dim-witted and not very funny. Having said that, the special effects and methods of the kills are very good, gory and creative, but not enough to make up for what seem to be an arduous viewing. If this film came up on cable TV, I would tell a friend to shut off the television and just go for a walk outside.

At first glance you get a few flat cliché characters, such as a hilarious "British bully"-type guy, a shy emo girl, an adult man who can't get the kids in control and tries to connect with them to no avail... It's not too bad the chemistry of the characters, but certainly not the best, it does the job to keep the plot watchable until the real stuff we came to watch starts.Anyways those characters encounter some problems, you've seen it in countless other movies - GPS loses their location (which was realistic because I had a similar experience the one time I visited the UK and had to drive slightly out of London) - phones get lost somewhere, the locals are sketchy. Convenient! But after a long and boring beginning and bland character backstory introduction and interaction - the fun begins. And I tell ya, there's quite a few laughs in that movie, the ending part made it worth watching trough all the boring stuff - no question about it. I won't spoil the fun, but fun it is.If you enjoy dark humor - this is pretty good! They could have gotten a bit more creative and in-depth with the kills, but were still quite out of the box to an extent. So if you fancy some gore and a few laughs - you should check it out. Feel free to skip trough to the fun stuff - as the rest is just filler that doesn't really add anything to the experience.

INBRED is one in a sub-genre of recent British splatter movies that celebrate their low budgets by throwing copious comedy gore into the mix. These films are often poorly plotted and rather predictable, but get by with sheer gusto and often the presence of familiar faces in the cast. If you like this, then be sure to check out others like DOGHOUSE or THE COTTAGE.INBRED is a film that celebrates Yorkshire culture with a storyline that has unfortunately been done to death a million times (see WILDERNESS and the like). A group of problem students head into the Yorkshire Dales for a break and before long they run into suspicious locales modelled on the ones from An American Werewolf in London. Later the film turns into a gory action movie as members of the group struggle to escape from various inbred hillbillies. I hated some parts (the drawn-out arena deaths and the general crudity) but in other areas the suspense is well handled and the effects are good. This film's directed by gore king Alex Chandon, who brings little wit or insight to the production, but if you like gore then it's not so bad. Jo Hartley is best known for playing Shaun's mum in THIS IS ENGLAND and bags the main role of the social worker here. Some of the kids are way too annoying and hateful, but others like Nadine Mulkerrin's Sam are okay. There are cameos from BEFORE DAWN's Dominic Brunt, who seems to be something of a horror fan, and Thalidomide actor Mat Fraser.

Four troubled teens and two caseworkers head to a remote area in the English countryside for a weekend of team building and scrap metal salvaging. An unfortunate incident with the locals leads to an accident, which leads to a misunderstanding, which leads to murder and worse.I love my inbred killer movies and I love my small town with a secret movies but I did not love Inbred. Nothing much happens until 40 minutes in and then the movie decides to be utterly bizarre for a while and give us a vaudeville performance with kills rather than going straight for the jugular. I couldn't help be reminded of the family show in House of 1000 Corpses and how that sequence dragged down the pacing just like the show here (although there's a very excellent bizarre kill in the first "act").We finally get through this part of the film and things move on quickly for a bit of survival horror with some decent gore and dark humor but by then it was a case of too little too late for me. I liked the main group of good guys and there was some effective gore but I spent too much time being bored and not enough being entertained.
