OK, I bought the 6 Hellraiser movies for $5, III to VIII. Here's my verdict: III – a joke of a movie, action Terminator style, with endless Pinhead boring endless dialogue – 3 stars. IV – interesting origins and some sci-fi, but amateur filmmaking – 3 stars. V – completely different. Psychological Terror Moral Lessons. Candidate to cut out at least 30 minutes of garbage and it could be a decent film – 4 stars. VI – Garbage. Another psychological terror. Miss use of characters and actors. The story sucked. – 1 star.I skipped VII by mistake and saw VIII. VIII is now a group of young friends getting killed in a club. Acting is mediocre to garbage. The dialogue sucked. Please stop adding comedy to horror films. Massive amounts of scenes could have been cut out of this film. These scenes added nothing, didn't work. And just bored the hell out of me. It's like if it was filmed they put it in the movie. You can't put all the scenes you shot in the film. Sometimes it may work while you're shooting the scenes, but when you put the whole freaking picture together you may notice it does not work, and it slows the whole thing down. Cutting the running time to about 70 minutes would have been great.Best part of the picture is the horror element. Anytime they got into nonsense conversations, small talk, with the characters the film fails. When the horror comes in, it's good. There's a scene where the black guy (now King Ezequio, from The Walking Dead) picks up a phone and says repeatedly "Can you hear me now"? I'd like to say yes, I can hear you. This is not funny, it's stupid. But maybe film makers can hear me now. We don't need comedy in horror movies. We want more horror, terror, or psychological drama. Not comedy. You want to lighten things up? Then shows us a sunset, or puppies. Not stupid comedy. My favorite so far is Hellraiser II. III and IV not much to recommend. V if edited out 30 minutes could be a decent film. VI is garbage, only a few scenes to recommend at most. VIII also if edited out 30 minutes could be decent.Rating C/D, or 3 or 4

This is NOT a good Hellraiser FILM, it only has the Hellraiser name slapped on it along with Cenobites thrown in to make it a HELLRAISER FILM and when watching this film I noticed that this was your typical 2000s "Straight to the K-mart 2 dollar bin* Garbage, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible.... IMDb won't let me give it a 0 out of 10. Just 1.

The Hellraiser franchise has undergone a series of misfires from poor scripts, plots and characterization as it goes toe to toe with Friday the 13th for bad sequels. In surprised at this point Doug Bradly wants his name associated with This unless he really needed work. The movie plays on the current trend of video games based on the movie Hellraiser. You have the breakfast club of a jock, out caste, criminal and pretty girl all mourning the lost of their friend who was addicted to the game and mysteriously died a year ago. They head inside the world of the game looking for clues at a party in a mansion that looks it was taken straight out of a Scooby doo cartoon. The plot thickens as Lance Henrisken, the father, who wants the punish the kids for not saving his son and places them in coffins underneath the ground. It had more jokes then swish cheese from the villains motives, his plans, who are the other party goers and leaves it open on if pinhead is real or not?The characters were one dimensional stereotypes who you never feel sympathy for or care what happens to them. Its confused on What it wants to be a horror thriller, comedy from the absurdity on the while project or a porno from the graphic nudity they through in for the heck of It.Hellraiser has fallen away into direct to video category for good reason.

'Hellraiser: Hellworld' is the eighth film in a series of movies (i despise the dreaded word franchise!) that is as undead and unkillable as shambling revenant Uncle Frank from the classic original - something that many people declared creatively dead a long time ago, and yet found the energy from somewhere to keep on twitching.Released upon an uncaring world in 2005, i have only just today, in 2013, got round to sitting down and watching this instalment: having read Doug (Pinhead) Bradley's memoirs "Behind the Mask: Confessions of a Horror Film Actor" quite some time back, Mr Bradley himself did not exactly paint a great or happy picture of the last few Rick Bota helmed instalments in the series - confessing that at the time of writing he had not even watched the film in question. I therefore went in with some trepidation, and suitably lowered expectations. What we got was a fairly routine if competently made slasher movie / whodunnit, with Hellraiser elements grafted on, which is par for the course with any Hellraiser instalment after part four: Dimension Films seem to have used a few spliced-in scenes of Pinhead and the Lament Configuration Box to spruce up any old script that was lying around the office. As i said, however, it is at least decently crafted, with nice production design and some nice directorial flourishes, but it is the cast that make the film worth watching. I don't just mean the gorgeous Katherine Winnick in her crop top and leather pants: but that certainly didn't have my attention wandering at all (Ms Winnick is, in my estimation, the Hellraiser series' fourth hottest chick: after Ashley Laurence, Paula Marshall and Sasha Barrese). The standout cast members are undoubtedly the legend that is Lance Henriksen - yet again unphased in the face of drivel, and never knowingly phoning in a performance, and most amusingly of all Henry Cavill, star of the forthcoming 'Man of Steel'. For the concept of Pinhead Vs. Superman alone, this film deserves its place on my DVD shelf! (PS: SPOILERS: Kal-El comes off second best).
