This movie is easily one the best supernatural features EVER! I watched years ago and recently saw it again along with "A Haunting in Georgia" to top off the fright night! Both are well done, especially the narration. But what scared me senseless was the sound effects of windy trees, blowing snow and doomed music. The terrifying scene in the boys bedroom when a group of ghostly beings gather to discuss something, ignoring the two boys, was so truly frightening and really leads one to believe this haunting really happened. Quirky is much more believable than cliché. Although it's a made for T.V. production, a sort of moody genius pervades throughout. For maximum effect watch this after dark and ALONE!

this 2002feature length documentary is one scary offering.i haven't seen the 2009 film version yet,so i can't compare the two,but this documentary was sure well done,in my opinion.in the chills department,it rates almost off the charts.there were a few scenes where my blood ran cold.the narrator(who also does the narration for the F.B.I. Files)has the perfect voice for this kind of program.a word of warning.if you watch this late at night,you may have trouble sleeping,as it's much more terrifying than most horror movies,due to a much higher degree of realism,in terms how it looks and how it's shot.that's just my opinion,of course.for me,A Haunting in Connecticut is a 9/10

I've caught glimpse's of these (the other being 'A Haunting In Georgia') but was never able to see the whole thing. A few weeks back I was sick and lay on my coach watching TV. Around supper I flipped on the TV to find this just starting. Having just moved to a new house, the Parker family (Karen, Paul, Bobby and Ed) is running low on luck. Their son Paul is sick with a form of cancer. the two boys explore the house on the first day of moving in. They find the house to be old, spooky, and dark. In the basement they find doctors tools and learn the house once belonged to a doctor. They decide move into the basement and not think anything of the old tools. That night they 'dream' of seeing people walking around in the other room. They still ignore it but soon it is too much as the figures move into their room and begin to come near them. They run continuously from the room but one night as Booby sleeps upstairs, Paul tries to confront the 'figures'. He is confronted by a blacked eyed, tuxedoed man and begins to act strange. The next few days Paul changes, he stays in his bedroom, listens to loud music, and ignores the family. The family has their cousin stay with them for the weekend, Therese, and she tries to talk with Paul. Paul begins to become violent, writing violent messages in his diary and attempts to attack Therese as she sleeps. After they learn that their son is possessed and workers move into the house to monitor them. After this one of the scariest confrontations between good and evil I've ever seen happens and it will seriously keep you up shaking at night. The film, along with its counterpart, is absolutely terrifying and I recommend you sleep with the light on. It doesn't matter if you believe in God, exorcisms, and demons, you will still find this one of the scariest things you'll ever see. Afterwards I thought that 'could this really happen?' I started watching this for no particular reason and couldn't stop. It's basically documentary format telling of a supposedly true story involving a haunted house. It was very well acted, directed, and produced. Although it totally had a made-for-TV vibe, in this case the people involved in the creative process really nailed the genre. My girlfriend was scared to death and begged me to change the channel to "Pet Star" or "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" or maybe even "Animal Face-Off" (three of our standby favorites) but I refused, wresting the remote from her hand as I threw back my head and cackled maniacally. Anyway, I couldn't stop watching, I had to know what happened next. I think this movie is going to catch on as one that I'll watch every All Hallow's Eve and get my friends (who are legion, I assure you) to watch as well. We started out laughing about the bearded demon guy when he first appeared but by the time it was over and I was in bed I was terribly frightened that he was at any moment going to show up in my room and make with the spooky. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes horror. It may not be a remake or cop any Japanese trends, but it's something special. All who were involved should be very proud.
