I decided to watch it without reading its reviews. It is not that bad. It's entertaining the least. The story is not complicated or overly plotted. It has some twists and turns which might not be expected in movies of the same genre. It's nonsense in some degree but intriguing. The ghost part of the story might require to be elaborated into details more in order to make strong impressions. If there would have some footage of 1982 robbery in the beginning of the movie would positively enhance its substance. The idea of the ghost story is unique and original should be played out through the entire film. However, the ending has all the shadows of "Friday the 13th". I was hardly impressed by.Those unfavorable reviews I am not entirely disagree. it's not an impressive work. Yet, I stood by its originality. It has some new ideas about combining thrillers and horrors together. However, it left fair amount of room to be improved.
... View MoreA small, simple movie with a cool and weird plot. Good acting, pacing and twist. Some good kills and a nice sense of mystery as the movie unfolds. I was surprised by how much I liked James Franco in this. Everyone did a great job all around. If you're a horror fan and/or like offbeat movies, I'd suggest giving it a watch.

... View More"The Vault" does not lack for originality, but as a lot of the action takes place in the dark, don't be surprised if that adds to the confusion. A gang of miscreants rob a bank first diverting the police and emergency services in a big way. Leaving aside their novel plan which includes taking hostages, you should never expect too much from people with tattoos on their faces, including intelligence. Added to this is the fact that nobody appears to be in charge, and they spend much of the time fighting each other.Hoping for a big payday, they are extremely disappointed to find only seventy grand in the vault, then one of the hostages pipes up that the old vault contains a lot more, like orders of magnitude more. He knows this because he is the assistant manager. In for a penny, in for six million dollars, they take the bait, but there is a lot more than money in the vault. Now we go from thriller to thriller mixed with horror. You can work out the rest yourself. Or maybe you can't.
