Greg Davies : Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog Trailers

You’ll already know Greg Davies as the psychotic Head of Sixth Form, Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners (Ch4) and as the most out-of-shape member of We are Klang (BBC3). His hotly anticipated debut stand-up show was a critically lauded sell-out smash hit at the 2010 Edinburgh festival, picking up a prestigious nomination for the Fosters Comedy Award (formerly the Perrier). Following a sell-out autumn tour and a spring 2011 extension added due to popular demand, now’s your chance to see this incredible stand-up show, live on DVD. It promises to address every single issue important to the human race. But it lies - it won’t address any. Buy it though, it’ll be funny. ***** Mail on Sunday ***** The Independent ***** Sunday Telegraph ***** Chortle ***** Time Out

The Couchpotatoes

I just watched two of Greg Davies' shows, You Magnificent Beast and Firing Cheeseballs At A dog. Personally I preferred the first one but Firing Cheeseballs At A Dog is also funny. The fact that he uses real things that happened in his life, and that he talks with so much humor about his family, is something special and almost unique. Greg Davies as a stand-up-comedian is pleasant to watch, no dull boring moments, always in for a bit of sarcasm and not afraid of laughing with himself. A couple time per show he uses the audience in his show and that's always welcome when playing in front of a big crowd. He has the feeling to do that and that's a good thing. This show might not be teardropping laughter but it is pleasant to watch and funny.
