Loved this documentary about older folks dancing hip hop for the New Jersey Nets basketball team. Very inspiring. The wonderful personalities of these dancers contrasted against the shallow, self-absorbed young cheerleaders was almost laughable. (How many times did their main coach say "I" in the film? Soooo many) I can only hope I will be half as much a go-getter as these ladies (and one gentleman) when i reach the 60 year mark. Teacher Betty/Betsy really stood out. She was such an interesting lady. Hearing their backstories was also a highlight. Anyone who thinks senior citizens don't have anything to offer the public should see this film!
... View MoreI had the pleasure of seeing a screening of this film last night in New York. This is a heartwarming and inspirational movie that celebrates tenacity and indomitable spirit. It is impossible not to root for Betty/Betsy, Joe B., Audrey, Fanny, and the lot of the Net Seniors crew; often my girlfriend and I found ourselves dancing along and cheering, and the entire audience burst into applause at least four or five times over the course of the film. The film reminded me a lot of last year's Young At Heart, and fans of that documentary will find a wonderful companion piece with Gotta Dance.Go see this movie!
