I really liked this short, it was so beautiful. the story is about a father and her daughter. They go to the shore one day and the father takes a boat for not returning again. However, his daughter goes every day of her life to the same place in order to see him someday. The storyline and how it is combined with the music was perfect. The music fits so well each stage of the daughter's life and also the actual seasons and the atmosphere of the narrative. Other interesting thing to mention is the way the film speaks about the death. It was so touching but imaginative at the same time using that amount of metaphors to describe the death. Despite everything I have said, the thing that I found the most wonderful about the film is that it is able to tell such a beautiful story without a piece of dialogue. Just watching at their movements and characters' expressions, listening to the music and sounds around the scenario, or just looking at the beautiful drawing, I was able to understand the whole story, even those metaphors talking about the death and making them really touching. However, the film made me feel a little bit sad for the daughter as she spends almost all her life thinking about her father who is not going to come back anymore, and how she waists her youth thinking about the past and not realizing that she has more things to feel happy with, but just my opinion about the character.
... View MoreLet's start with a good point of the movie. This movie, father and daughter have a simple and wonderful graphic that can be easily understood by using bittersweet cloudy mood. Although it has a colorless animation, seasonal changes are very obvious. Sunlight and shadow projected on street and tree, along with a good soundtrack that perfectly fit with the tone of the movie. Attention provided in sound effect gave a good touch in the movie (e.g. bicycle bell, wind, water ripple). I personally do not enjoy traumatize film because it makes me fall asleep. But it is a short film, I could finish watching it in 8 minutes. The love of daughter can be felt by her routine. Even it has no monologue or dialogue, the visual storytelling has been done beautifully. The pace of how story flow has been slowed down before the climax to attract an attention from the audience. However, the story could be shortened in some scene without losing any detail. There are some points in the middle of the story which I feel somehow redundant and unclear. Overall, I like the way how the movie has superb visual storytelling and sound, but it makes me want to go to bed.

It tells a girl's devotion to her father during her whole lifetime, from childhood to her elder days. No matter how many years pass by, she keeps on returning to the place where they said goodbye, hoping he'll be there, back to her. Besides the changing of her height, the other subtle hints the director gives us on the time passing are very natural. Nothing seems forced, and the art of the drawing is in the correct amount - if it had more details, it would lose its simple beauty; the same goes for the music that accompanies the story. In my opinion, the soundtrack is the most important part of a film, having the capacity to empower it and ruin it, and talking about "Father and Daughter" I have to say it was just right as a whole. The end is also extremely touching and when the film stops rolling we just feel our hearts fulfilled.
... View MoreI thought this film was very sad and creative and well matched in music. The film doesn't give much information so first, I didn't know what was happening in the film and it was hard to understand it. But I thought it's better not having much information at first so we can think about what's happening. So, this film made me very emotional because I thought if I was the daughter it's very sad to not live with our loved ones. I felt the film's music made it a very emotional film. It really matches the film and shows the emotions very effectively. After watching the film I thought how happy I can be living with my family every day. The film's ending was very interesting because it doesn't make it clear what's going to happen afterwards.
