These movies will always remain a mystery to me. I have no idea what they are supposed to be and what genre to place them in. It isn't horror, it isn't fantasy, it isn't porn...it's simply nothing. This movie is almost entirely the same as its first predecessor. It also got made by the same crew and even stars most of the same cast, even though everybody is playing a totally different role this time. So, it's a sequel that isn't expanding on the first movie. It's simply doing the same stuff all over again, including all of its many flaws. This time around there is even less story, which makes the movie all the more annoying. Just like its predecessor it also keeps dragging on and on with all of its killings, that aren't even enjoyable to watch for the lovers of gore and violence. The movie remains easy on the eyes with its pleasant visual style, that for some part manages to conceal the movie its low budget. But the director himself also seems to be really in love with the visual style, since he is often overdoing it. The guy doesn't know when to stop, just like this movie-series doesn't know to stop. There are 4 movies out already and who knows, maybe we'll get even more in the future.A big waste of time, even though it's a very short movie.3/10http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/
... View MoreAgainst popular opinion - I really dug the first FANTOM KILER joint. I thought that it was stylish, sexy, sleazy, misogynistic, and funny - and that's a hard combo to pull together successfully - but I feel that it pulled it off pretty damn well. FK2 is decent, but lacks a good bit of the "charm" of the first film. The "style" is still there, but this entry tries to take itself a little too seriously while still delivering the sleaze - and it doesn't work as well...As with my copy of the first FK joint - this one also had no English subs/dubs - but the "plot" was easier to follow this time around. The cops are still on the hunt for the Fantom Kiler - so they enlist a female officer (the same girl that got the wooden spoon up the bung in the last film...) to go undercover as a hooker to lure FK in. As you can probably guess - this turns out all wrong...I applaud the director for trying to come up with a more "solid" storyline this time around - but honestly, it's not needed. I'd prefer to see this franchise go back to the gratuitous crotch shots and vag-stabbing of the first film (not that there's NONE in this entry - just not enough). There's still some decent explicit nude scenes, but they don't come as fast and furious as the first film. The splatter scenes are a little better done, but this is an aspect that I'd like to see improved too. But regardless - FK2 still has more hot nekkid chicks and sleazy violence than the majority of films out there - with a nice cooch-sawing, and a jumper-cable-nipple-torture scenario (among others) that still make this one decent. Worth checking out if you liked the first FK film, just don't expect it to be quite as good. Here's hopin' that FK3 takes it back to the "roots"...7.5/10
... View MoreI prefer to watch a sexy horror movie than a low budget gorefest. Therefore I enjoyed this film. I don't want to give away the whole plot but it is more than just your typical serial killer type tale. It is the kind of film I have been looking for for a long time and thought would not exist. Sexy Eurpoean ladies, extreme situations, stylish, great music from Frank Cossack. Maybe it is slow in places but its still worth the purchase (nice cover too). Imaginative and very erotic....I can think of no other film like this for style and content. If you are looking for a bloody gorefest then go somewhere else I say....but appreciate that this is in a league of its own.
... View MoreThe Fantom Kiler series really seems to divide opinions, (Then again so does Harry Potter). I preferred Fantom Kiler 1 to Fantom Kiler 2 (Slightly) - even though the sequel has some strong scenes. This is not a film aimed at hard gore fanatics, it is much more than that. For me it works as an erotic giallo-esque fantasy and has some nice photography, great looking women (who take their clothes off ... A LOT) and some brilliant soundtrack themes (I event bought the CD). I can't wait for number 3 to come out on DVD.Some people say that Fantom Kiler has no plot. Well if the tale about a misogynistic hatred being manifest into a monster that does it's creator bidding is no plot then what plot has Friday the 13th? I think the idea is pretty original, but maybe too subtle for most teenage gorehounds to grasp, I fear. This is a a film for more mature audiences who appreciate the finer things in film making.Bring on Fantom Kiler 4!!!
