Entourage Trailers

Movie star Vincent Chase, together with his boys, Eric, Turtle and Johnny, are back…and back in business with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold. Some of their ambitions have changed, but the bond between them remains strong as they navigate the capricious and often cutthroat world of Hollywood.

If you haven't seen any of the 'Entourage' TV series (which ran from 2004-2011), then you may occasionally be at a loss during the film. The film starts off with a brief 'where-are-they-now' (on a yacht in the Mediterranean, surrounded by dozens of women, obviously), but doesn't offer much background otherwise, assuming if you're watching it, you already know the four main characters - Vince (Grenier), Eric (Connolly), Turtle (Ferrara) & Drama (Dillon) - plus Ari (Piven), who is almost more essential to the show/film than any of the others. As usual, there's plenty of guest stars - Wahlberg, Alba, Favreau, Neeson, Grammer, Busey, Saget, Spade, Hammer, various NFL players - which sometimes add something to the film, but often seem unnecessary and seem to be there purely to make it feel like Hollywood. There's a minor plot for each of the entourage - Vince directing his first film; Drama hoping for a breakout role in that film (& getting embroiled in some online retribution); Turtle trying to get date a girl who happens to be a professional wrestler; and Eric doing pregnancy things with his currently separated wife. Nothing revolutionary plot-wise and - besides Royal Blood at the start, Jane's Addiction at the titles and Tame Impala in the middle - there's some very average music throughout.Ari is slightly calmer and - even though he still screams and says mean things - he comes off as more charming and less abrasive than before. Great to see Piven & Thornton acting together - arguably to only two 'real' actors/stars in the film! Also, credit to Haley Joel Osment, who plays entitled, ignorant hick superbly. The main issue most people will have with this film is its portrayal of Los Angeles - young/skinny women in bikinis (or not), always a party, always sunny, always a brunch. Possibly true, but it does often feel plastic/forced. However, the film isn't bad - it just feels like three episodes rolled into one, with no real sense of tension or resolution at all. It's just a comfortable ride with familiar faces.

The original series had a quite successful run for almost a decade. I haven't seen that, after seeing this film now I want to try it. So this movie is like a bonus episode for its fans, and for the cast and crew it was a reunion for the one last time. But I want a sequel, because I kind of liked it without familiarity with the original story and its characters. Anyway, it did not give me any trouble in understanding, particular this story. But obviously I know I am missing something in those scenes that directly has something to do with the series. What a simple tale about the film industry. It actually centered on a bunch of Hollywood actors and producers. When a lead actor wanted to direct his next film for the new production house, he gets a green signal, but the problem arises after production halts in the half way due to exceeding the original budget. All the struggle they go through, especially the studio head who acts between the filmmakers and their financiers is what narrated in this film.I don't know what they thought of this those who saw the series, but to me it was a pretty good comedy. Because I had no pressure to expect or to compare it with the original material like they do. The cast was wonderful. I got quite an unexpected and enjoyable twist. Since it was related to the motion pictures, some big film personalities' cameo brightened the overall film. If you want your watch to be a perfect, go through from the beginning, but like I did, you too can have a good time without viewing the series. That's not a recommendation, but a small suggestion.7/10

Absolutely no spoilers in this review...As a fan of the TV show, I first saw this movie upon its release...and then forgot about it almost immediately. I guess the movie was always going to struggle to meet the fans' expectations after four years of waiting. Let's face it: who else was going to go see it? Sure, there are a few back story lines in the movie...but, thankfully, only a few.So, having recently watched the movie for a second time after binge-watching all 8 seasons of the TV show again, my strong recommendation is to watch the movie as soon as possible after watching the TV show to ensure the continuity that makes this movie work...if not as a definitive ending to the story...again...hopefully.

Entourage is an exquisite masterpiece from the very first episode to the movie! The series and show are a must see. The cast is absolutely amazing and they all crush their roles. The production team did an outstanding job, this truly is must see TV. I have seen the show and movie about 10 times already in full and I will continue to re watch them. If you have not seen them I highly recommend it! The movie picks up right where season eight leaves off. By the time you're done watching you feel like you're apart of the Entourage family. I want to thank everyone who played apart in the creation of this remarkable project! I pray Mark, Doug & the Entourage team keep them coming!
