From my point of view, the movie's point isn't to scare your ass off. Its point is to piece together horror, thriller and a little bit of comedy. Its point is to seem interesting and not to seem predictable - personally, i have so much valuation to films that doesn't have a simple idea. The films that gets you confused with their abnormal atmosphere. The films that leave you guessing and biting your nails.I think the characters are amazingly done - i mean, their lines make you laugh and each one of them expresses themselves differently. My favorite is the curly hair-guy who talks all the time, including sarcasm and humor in his talk. The others get just pissed off and tell him to shut up :D THAT IS SO FUNNY.I mean, they are stuck in the elevator and they have to stand each other in such a cramped pace and yet, for such a long time. If this doesn't impress you enough, at least watch this movie for Logan Marshall Green because his performance in his role is impressing. I remember him from The OC tv show, as Ryan Atwood's brother, Trey in the later seasons. This movie made me laugh, entertained, a little bit of skittish and very involved. I think it's amazingly and uniquely done. One of interesting things in the movie for me is to think that someone of those people in the elevator, is the devil! People died one at a time and it left you to question those who are still alive. It's like freaking detective game for you :DI just have to say, i'm proud i watched this movie. It made me feel entertained afterwards. Movies like this are one of the good reasons to stay alive.

I remember going to see this in the cinema when it was released in the UK. For me, at the time I wasn't really a big fan of horror/thriller movies as they just didn't have me on the edge of my seat and wondering what's going on. The story kept me on edge trying to guess which one was the devil with the story from the opening monologue about the suicide and then those becoming trapped. This playing in with the multiple deaths over the timing of the film had you guessing who it was going to be and then when you found out you were in shock as it wasn't who you thought. All of it tied together for all the characters too played a brilliant story out on the screen and M Night Shyamalan can be proud of the film he created.

Cinematography is very well done. The movie starts of pretty good and I got hooked instantly and enjoyed it until the climax. Even though most of the movie takes place inside an elevator it never gets stale, it keeps you guessing and you never will predict most of the time whats gonna happen next. Climax is where I felt this movie got bad. Other than that this movie is a worthy watch for thriller fans.

The movie hit a scary side of me when I use my imagination and put myself in one of the individuals situation. First, I don't like tight spaces. Second, I don't like elevators with more than just me on it (I do walk 8 flights of stairs within the building I work at to my desk.) Third, include an evil spirit (or daddy evil himself) within the mix and to me, that equals a scary movie.I enjoyed the plot of the movie on how the individuals themselves all ended up on the elevator. As the movie reels, the viewer learns about each person's background on the elevator due to the assigned detective on the case. How did he end up on the case? Everything that happened in sequence was just how the devil planned. Good movie!
