From my point of view, the movie's point isn't to scare your ass off. Its point is to piece together horror, thriller and a little bit of comedy. Its point is to seem interesting and not to seem predictable - personally, i have so much valuation to films that doesn't have a simple idea. The films that gets you confused with their abnormal atmosphere. The films that leave you guessing and biting your nails.I think the characters are amazingly done - i mean, their lines make you laugh and each one of them expresses themselves differently. My favorite is the curly hair-guy who talks all the time, including sarcasm and humor in his talk. The others get just pissed off and tell him to shut up :D THAT IS SO FUNNY.I mean, they are stuck in the elevator and they have to stand each other in such a cramped pace and yet, for such a long time. If this doesn't impress you enough, at least watch this movie for Logan Marshall Green because his performance in his role is impressing. I remember him from The OC tv show, as Ryan Atwood's brother, Trey in the later seasons. This movie made me laugh, entertained, a little bit of skittish and very involved. I think it's amazingly and uniquely done. One of interesting things in the movie for me is to think that someone of those people in the elevator, is the devil! People died one at a time and it left you to question those who are still alive. It's like freaking detective game for you :DI just have to say, i'm proud i watched this movie. It made me feel entertained afterwards. Movies like this are one of the good reasons to stay alive.
... View MoreGreetings from Lithuania."Devil" (2010) is a great genre movie. Genre itself here is horror, but "Devil" should be classified more like a thriller / horror movie. What i liked about this movie in a first place was its present day take on a story, in a middle of usual business day, when suddenly something very unusual starts to happen in a usual place (and yes, broken elevator i think is a usual place). I was highly involved into this story. Characters here weren't highly presented, but its not the point. I loved Detective Bowden character, he was on spot and represented counterbalance to all the supernatural things that were going on. Overall, "Devil" is a superb genre flick. It is a horror thriller mystery combination that will glue you to the screen for all its running time keeping you guessing and feel very bad about the idea to get stuck in a elevator. And according to this movie idea, it can happen anywhere. If you like these kind of movies, "Devil" is a must see. Great genre movie.

View MoreReviewed most of the reviews, so I'm just gonna summarize what i think: Main Plot - Stupid!!! why would the devil torture and kill BAD people, i think the writer is confused, the devil is torturing bad people for the sins they've committed!! whaaaaaaatthe director is really trying hard to make the movie longer than half an hour with irrelevant side events.. the whole suicide thing is unnecessary, movie could've just started at the elevator scene (among other stupid things)do they actually suspect one another for the killings??.... the director takes us for foolsits one of these movies you surprised yourself you watched till the end...really very very bad, didn't rate it 1 star cause casting was not bad, actors tried really hard to act convincingly... sound effect and cinematography wasn't bad either..
... View More**CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS**This movie kept me on the edge of my seat! I was NOT expecting who the killer really was! I was expecting it to be the security guard, since he was a thug. It REALLY surprised me when I realized it wasn't him. I will definitely rewatch this movie! It really surprised me when all of the passengers on the elevator had criminal backgrounds, or did something wrong like a hit and run *hint hint* This movie definitely beats other movies, like Children of the Corn. I usually don't rewatch horror movies since I already know what's going to happen, but this movie will Definitely be rewatched. The only boring parts I can think of is when the mechanic, the one trying to fix the elevator not Tony, goes to the basement. I honestly was expecting the elevator to somehow start working and crash down onto him, but he didn't die like that. When Tony was the one who hit the mother and son, I was completely surprised and predicted that the cop or whoever he was, would turn him in even though it was five years ago.
