Movie starts off really strange with the witch's son eating cat food. Three local rednecks decided to pick on him with disastrous consequences. The craggy old witch gets into a tub of witches brew and out comes Debbie Rochon. Oh man, that alone is worth the price of admission. She proceeds to seduce the three boys. We are cheated out seeing that. Only our imaginations at being bedded by Debbie are at work.Mission accomplished, it's time for magic to work. Payback time! The ghouls are ready. One by one, they will get their just desserts. One has to say that two rolls with Debbie might just be worth what she has in store.
... View MoreJust posting a slight warning about this Full Moon release to all you zombie movie lovers. Although it somehow doesn't quite reach the depths of awfulness as such stink bombs as Zombie Lake and Oasis of the Zombies, this zero budget videotaped horror effort (shot somewhere in the bowels of rural Ohio) is definitely one to avoid. The story is silly (and full of VERY obvious lapses in logic and general coherence), the photography is terrible, the direction is bland and devoid of imagination and the make-up is pretty average. What's even worse? The acting! What an insultingly untalented group of 'thespians' they gathered up here!
... View Morei'm reading these reviews-- the reviews that pan this film seem to all seem to be paning the look of video---is this supposed to be a review of video vs. film ? i don't think so, so why whine about that ? I'm kindof appauled at the sniffling on this message board about video-origination-- over half of the stuff you see on TV is shot on video-- stop whining.about this film, i thought the compositions and atmosphere were FAR better than ALOT of film originated horror films-- specifically, Pumpkinhead (overdone), the Hellraiser sequels (sloppy), the dusk til dawn sequels, the tremors sequels (not thought out)-- actually ALL of the other Full Moon films i've seen, regardless of their origination medium....the acting is MUCH better than most low budget horror films i've seen. Some people on this thread also whined about that-- it's pretty obvious they've never seen low-budget horror film before. Some sited that they've seen trauma films, and this makes them knowledgeable about horror film acting-- the acting in Dead and Rotting is leagues above trauma films-- not even comparable. It stands out from the "low-budget horror" crowd in many ways. Overall, it is much more well-thought out than any comparably-budgeted film. For those who are considering renting or buying this film, if you understand that it's shot on video, and you have seen and liked any other low-budget horror film, you will more than likely really like this film. All of the bad reviews about this film are confused and uneducated.I rented it from Hollywood video last night, and I will be buying a copy online this week.
