The adrenaline rush never stops. The razor-sharp humor and nonstop action are back...and then some. As usual, Chev has to race against time or risk dying, but it isn't because of the poison we saw last time; it's because the villains took his heart and replaced it with an artificial one that has a less-than-reliable battery pack. The trademark "Mission Impossible" type formula is back with a vengeance: fight some villains, consult the doctor, spend time with girlfriend...in no particular order.Once again, there is the usual motley crew of characters who are alongside Chev: gangsters, exotic dancers, adult film stars, the works. The action scenes are definitely ones for the books. Take what you saw in the first "Crank" and then amp it up by, say, twenty. The subtitle is absolutely perfect because that's the pace for which the movie goes: high voltage. Let's face it: the man has nine lives and can't be put down so easily...but don't tell the villains that.Like the one before it, this is another feel-good movie that will boost your spirits if you had a bad day and you feel like hitting something.

Hit-man Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) has his 'strawberry tart' stolen and replaced by a mechanical ticker. While he hunts for the missing organ, he must keep his replacement pump functioning by taking on massive charges of electricity.Neveldine and Taylor, the pair responsible for the Crank movies, make Michael Bay and Uwe Boll look like Kubrick and Scorsese by comparison, their dumb-as-f**k action films a non-stop stream of migraine-inducing editing techniques that are an insult to the medium and to the true greats of the action genre. I love wild, over-the-top cinema that breaks the rules but I like to think that a modicum of skill and thought has gone into its creation; Crank: High Voltage is 96 minutes of random, mindless, puerile garbage for Ritalin-deprived ADD-afflicted teens, a film so devoid of merit that it makes me angry just to think about it.Of course, if you enjoyed the first Crank film, you'll probably love this, since it's basically the first film taken to even more extremes, with crazier stunts, more expletives, an even more explicit sex scene (Amy Smart, what were you thinking?) and less logic—but remember, never stick your fingers in a light socket… that's just cinema magic (probably best if you watch the film in the company of a responsible adult—but good luck on finding one willing to sit through this crap).Worst moment: so many to choose from, but the godawful Godzilla battle scene wins it, with an interview with a young Chev Chelios coming a very close second.

This was equally as good as the first Crank, although in saying that you've also then seen it all before so it loses some of its uniqueness and crazy charm.Anyways, its another adrenaline filled hot mess, with indestructible hit man Chev Chelios trying to find the Chinese Gangster who harvested his heart. He's been outfitted with an electronic one that requires a blast of electricity to keep pumping as he again wreaks havoc on LA in his quest. All the faces from the original return (in very clever ways) as well as Bai Ling who was just freakin' nuts but very in tune with the whole vibe. There was a lot of gratuitous T&A this time around and a couple scenes I actually had to turn away from (slicing off of elbows and nipples) We also get a redeux of the public sex scene, this time at the race track and it was just hilarious.I love the way this is filmed, all choppy and random. I may have seen it all before but I'd watch another one of these movies. The outtakes during the credits are very funny too. 01.15.14

Crank was taken place around 24 hours in the life of Chev Chelios (Jason Statham), a hit-man injected with a deadly poison. Crank film ended with Chev jumping parachute-free out of a plane, and landing face first on a street corner. Since these aren't reality, he is still very much alive, as we have saw in a blink of his eyes. Crank: High Voltage picks up with Chinese mobsters shoveling up Chelios, whisking him away, replacing his still beating heart with a battery-operated ticker that requires regular shots of electricity to keep Chev alive.Having the opening scene set, what follows is a more crazier, energetic but less entertaining 90-minute chase as Chelios faces a race against time to find his energy fuel and re-introduce the organ to his chest. Having read several critics reviews, it seems that many people would agree that Crank was better, though Crank: High Voltage does have its advantages. What I did not like too much about High Voltage is the introduction to several new characters. The film is several minutes longer so this would mean we are left with less Chev screen time. As opposed to Crank, Chelios is in near every scene, and he is great. In High Voltage, this isn't the case, and although his character is the same, Statham appears to look rather bored. Having it now being 5 years since Crank: High Voltage, the sake of a sequel does not look bright.
