Cradle of Fear Trailers

A gruesome homage to the cult Amicus anthology Asylum, Cradle of Fear unfolds four screamplays all linked by the unspeakable need of an incarcerated child killer to wreak vengeance on those responsible for his imprisonment. Helped by deranged angel Dani Filth, who leaves a trail of charnel house death in his crimson wake, the cannibal convict forces two Goth vamps to endure a one night stand from hell, two tough female robbers to see through each other, an obscenely rich coke-head to chop up more than a few lines and an internet surfer to descend into madness when he uncovers the ultimate web depravity.

Let me start off by saying that I love Cradle of Filth, and I am a big fan of Dani Filth. So, I was excited to see a film starring him, as well as CoF's music. That being said, the movie is bad. Very bad. It is a difficult film to watch due to bad scripting, bad acting and bad special effects. Off the bat, I want to give the film a 3 or a 2 even. But, I didn't. The reason for that is the very reason that kept me watching - to find out what happens and for more laughs. Also, they managed to find some very good-looking actresses willing to take off clothes. The movie kept me interested enough to carry on watching (not the story or script, just to see how people die), something that many big-budget films occasionally fail at. Other than that, I had a great laugh. Considering I watched it alone, it would be a great film to watch with some friends and a drink - assuming you are looking for a comedy involving splattering heads.I don't want my review to say that the movie is good. It isn't, at all. The point is that I am sure even the director and Dani (who had to work together, I assume) must have had their own laughs watching this, due to their very sick and hilarious brand of bloody humor.

Apparently CRADLE OF FEAR was produced as an affectionate homage to the anthology horror films of Amicus . Whilst not being cinematic masterpieces at least the Amicus had a little something that appeals to the guilty pleasure aspect of the audience . Corny stories riddled with plot holes , dead pan acting and karma involving bad things happening to bad people . They're entertaining rubbish . The problem with COF is that it's thoroughly unentertaining rubbish that never threatens to come close to " It's so bad it's good " The production values make Ed Wood look like Ridley Scott in comparison . The film is shot on videotape so you've got something resembling one of those daytime gardening shows . What this does is highlight the often inept dialogue , plotting , gore and acting . Someone gets their house repossed . Cut to doorbell getting rung , man answering door :" We've come to repossess your house " " Oh Okay then " then cuts to the next scene of a For Sale sign being put up in garden . At least in a movie shot on 35 mm film even the most terrible scene is cushioned by production values . Here there's no production values to speak off where means CRADLE OF FEAR becomes an absolute ordeal to sit through and makes me wonder if the people praising the movie might have in fact worked on it ?

In London, Detective Pete Neilson (Edmund Dehn) is investigating several bloody and gruesome murders with all the victims connected to the trial of the serial killer Kemper (David McEwen) that is interned in the Fenham Asylum.Melissa (Emily Bouffante) has one night stand with a sick man she met in a Gothic club and while going to the house her friend Natalie (Eileen Daly) on the next morning, she has the sensation that she is surrounded by demons. Sooner she finds that she carries an offspring of the man.Emma (Emma Rice) and Sophie (Rebecca Eden) go to the house of an old man to steal his money, but their robbery becomes violent when the dweller wakes up.Nick (Louie Brownsell) has a great complex with his beloved girlfriend Nikki (Melissa Forti) because his leg was amputated in an accident. He becomes deranged, gets a leg and forces his doctor to implant it, with tragic results.Richard Neilson (Stuart Laing), the son of Detective Neilson, works in an Internet company and becomes obsessed with snuff movies in a website, where the user can select the means of killing the victim, losing his job. When the site vanishes, Richard seeks information finding the truth about the movies."Cradle of Fear" is a collection of four original, erotic and gory horror tales. Using great special effects, performances and music score, sexy actresses and lots of blood, I liked very much this surprisingly good B-movie, but the Satanism used to entwine the four tales with the investigation of Detective Neilson does not work very well and is the weak part of the tales. The first story is certainly the best one, but I was really impressed with the excellent special effects that in many cases gives the sensation that the violence of the scene is for real. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Nascido do Inferno" ("Born From Hell")

Empire called it "the best British gore film since Hellraiser". Allan Bryce said "i have seen the future of horror and his name is Alex Chandon". With praise like that it was bound to disappoint some. Cradle of fear is a low-budget horror anthology. Whether you will enjoy the film will depend on whether you can get past the low-budget video look, several bad performances and the at times laughable effects. However overall the most surprising thing about this film is how good it is. Alex Chgandon brings a level of directing style not usually associated with this budget, in particular in the excellent opening sequence. The gore is excellent and some off the effects are very good though at times the over the top nature off the violence is at odds with the tone off the film. In general the acting is good with Stuart Laing in the films high point the sick room segment being of special mention. Dani Filth is alright in a role that requires him to do little but kill and act cool. The actor who played Kemper was suitably deranged. Though the high point is the sick room segment , there are great moments throughout in particular the finale. Is it good as Hellraiser? No, but then not a lot of horror films are. It does however show that with a bigger budget and more time Alex Chandon could make one off THE horror films off the decade, and therefore really does introduce a new voice previously known only in underground circles. This however is not his masterpiece.
