First of all, not a fan of Larry David (or Jerry Seinfeld for that matter). What he considers comedy doesn't even give me the slightest feeling of comedic delight. I haven't yet watched Curb, but I'll definitely give it a try one of these days. I hope it's better than this. I'm still optimistic that Larry David could deliver one way or another, but the more I watch him perform in anything, the less I expect. People I consider funny: Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Will Ferrell, Louis CK etc. Larry David (and Jerry Seinfeld) aren't even close. Their kind of comedy is mostly for old people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Jewish-American comedy, because I'm sure some who reads this may think that since I'm mentioning Seinfeld in one sentence with Larry David, is because they're both Jewish-American. No, absolutely not. Their style is very similar. Many Jewish comedians are legendary in my opinion: Andy Kaufman, Jerry Lewis, Billy Crystal, Mel Brooks. I also like Brad Garrett, Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller (their early stuff). It's just Larry David, Jerry Seinfeld, Fran Drescher, Joan Rivers or even Woody Allen I more than often can't wrap my head around, because I very rarely hear anything funny leave their mouths. It really amazes me how extremely popular and successful they are. To me, their success should be written in the dictionary, right next to *what's the definition of a paradox?*Anyway, I went a little bit off topic there. Back to Clear History: It's just not funny enough to even be considered a comedy. I'm sure that if Bill Murray had played the main role with Harold Ramis supporting and Ivan Reitman writing the script, this would've been a blast. Disappointing, considering how much comedic talent (Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Jon Hamm) and famous people (Michael Keaton, Amy Ryan, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson) are in this. This should've been way better. 4.4/10

I do watch Curb Your Enthusiasm and think it's a funny but crazy show. When I found this movie on HBO I just read the plot, I didn't read any reviews. If I had done that I might have understood that this is a movie very much featuring Larry Davids mind and ideas. It is like a long episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm with a similar kind of plot. It's a movie about a very "special" person that always feels the need to say everything he thinks out loud and that always feels neglected. Just like Larry in Curb Your Enthusiasm. It is a funny movie but I think some may think it's a bit too much like Curb Your Enthusiasm. It even has the same kind of music. The movie is entertaining but quirky!

"You can't name a car Howard!" Nathan (David) is an ad executive who is the best at what he does. After getting into a fight over what to name a new model of car with his boss Will (Hamm) he quits. When the car hits big and makes everyone involved with it very very rich Nathan moves and changes his name. Ten years later, he is content and happy with his new life in Martha's Vinyard. When Will moves to the Vinyard Nathan begins to think of ways to get him to leave. His best idea is to blow up his house. First and foremost this movie is hilarious. But like I have said before I have a specific style of humor that I love. The humor in this one is very Seinfeld like, which makes sense since 4 of the 4 writers wrote for Seinfeld. There are long tirades and running jokes about which car should back up on a one lane road, the placement of electrical outlets and the band Chicago. I laughed a lot throughout. Overall, if you like Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm you will love this movie. I highly recommend this. I give it an A.

I thoroughly enjoyed this chance to spend a couple of hours with Larry David. The personality he made famous on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is transplanted here into the persona of a Silicon Valley marketing hotshot whose errors in judgment wind up costing him big time. After suffering humiliation at home, work, and in the media, David's character -- a dead ringer for the guy who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart -- adopts a new identity in a kind of self-imposed witness-protection program, turning up on Martha's Vineyard, at the bottom of the economical pecking order, as personal aide to a crochety old lady.Funny plot twists transpire with all manner of intriguing side characters, from Liev Schreiber as a scary Chechen, to Michael Keaton as a loony "Caper," and Kate Hudson as a seersucker-favoring trophy wife. This was beautifully done and I hope it's the start of a long movie career for the inimitable David!
