A girl selling cookies is brought into a house and killed. Christina and her young brother Bobby come home from school into the same house. They live there with their father James Tarling. Their mother is in a nearby asylum. Eddy Duncan is Christina's boyfriend and Karen is her friend. Howie Rhodes is the handyman repairing the house. Sheriff Mark Sklar investigates the missing girl. This is a cross between a murder mystery and a killer horror. It's flawed in both genre but it has an intriguing premise. The opening could lead to either a fine slasher movie or a fine whodunit. First, they need to hold on the house a bit longer. I had to rewind to ensure that both shots are the same house. The slasher part is not gory enough which limits its horror potential. The whodunit is undermined by the few possible suspects and the initial push for a monster in the attic. The potential never gets realized but it is interesting to contemplate.

10That's all I have to say about Christina's House (2000) .Any questions? The thing that hits me first is it looks like remnants of some old 8mm home movies at times, like when the boy is spraying the girls more or less unintentionally. In this case, spraying refers to spraying water out of the hose from the public water supply, not spraying other liquids from other than the public water supply or both or neither for that matter.Just spraying cool, clean public water, that's itI love this piece where the girl goes into her brother's room in her underwear looking for her journal and crawls all over him and I thought now crawling on him is not going to make him more likely to give up the journal, I'd be like "Oh journal, huh? I'm trying to remember, help me remember..."This is hot! They should splice in porno in spots like when the dad is heading to bed after locating the journal, it would be like what each of them was separately thinking after that moment."You need a haircut, boy with booze"And there's the rat in a trap

"Christina's House" focuses on the titular teenage girl (Allison Lange) who has begun experiencing bizarre occurrences in her new home in the Pacific Northwest. Tensions between her overbearing father (Fred Savage) and boyfriend (Brendan Fehr) exacerbate the situation, and the arrival of an offbeat handyman (Brad Rowe) creates further rifts—but something deeper and far more disturbing lay in the depths of Christina's home.I saw this film over ten years ago and my memories of it were foggy; I recalled the opening scene well, but the rest of the film escaped me. I recently re-watched it, and was mildly surprised by it. It is a B-horror movie through and through, but retains a respectable amount of class that protects it from falling into the "utter sleaze" or "so-bad-you-can't-watch-it" category. The cinematography is nice and the writing is surprisingly attentive and compelling. It had me personally guessing until the last act, and though it is marred by some uneven pacing, the film kept my attention. The main downfall to the entire thing comes down to the performances, which range from decent to a mixture of decent and downright campy. Allison Lange has a good screen presence, but her acting in the film is hit-and-miss. Fred Savage's turn as the overbearing, perverted father is bizarre and often over-the-top, while Brendan Fehr and Brad Rowe turn in average performances. Aside from some offbeat performances, the bones of the film (no pun intended) are relatively solid. The script seems to be riffing on elements of Bob Clark's seminal Canadian thriller "Black Christmas," and the premise of the film works. Its final scene kicks it up another notch in my opinion, adding an ambiguous layer of intrigue that leaves the audience with a thorn in their side that they'll have to pull out on their own.Overall, "Christina's House" is a decent low-budget horror flick that transcends its limitations for the most part. It is not a profound film, but it is clever and at times somewhat creepy. It's a case where I definitely feel that, had the filmmakers had a bit more money (and a bit higher caliber of talent), they could have pulled off something mildly extraordinary. At the end of the day, the film is an entertaining and noble effort. 6/10.

Soon forgotten toned down Slasher flick starring Allison Lange. The movie is at the first half a whodunnit Slasher but it keeps giving the audience hints about who could be the killer. First, the jealous insecure boyfriend has some weird attitudes and even attacks Howie for no reason. Then, the father who is a pervert and looks at his daughter as a sexual object performs some actions that could make you think he's a loony. Then, we have Howie. The "pretty" boy who fixes the house but he really isn't a "normal" boy.If you haven't watched the movie give it a try; it's not as bad as people say but it's not a good movie by any means. The plot is kind of interesting but predictable. Almost all the death scenes are off-screen you can discard gore in this one.Overall this is the kind of movie to watch while you are doing "anything" else. For example, if you are chatting or talking over the phone with someone boring, , "Christina's House" may be the perfect option. Allison Lange is really beautiful and can act. She should appear in more important movies.
