For the first time in my life a movie made me literally cry like a baby. In my humble opinion I think this is the movie where a bit rubbish CGI made this film a masterpiece. The mix of emotions which comes with Lesli's death is unforgettable. After all, when we get to know that Lesli is dead it's all in the void what comes after. And the line said by Jessi's father shivers like hell "i don't know if there is a god, but i know for sure he won't send that little girl to hell".I think no one will look at life the same he did before.

The movie is as realistic as it can get, and i'm not talking about creatures, places that the main protagonists created out of their pure imagination, i'm talking about plot development. Movies like this one usually make you wonder about the harsh reality that things can be very accidental in life. Meeting a new person (Leslie) that shares with you many traits and becomes your best (maybe only friend) is really a long and hard-to-accept process, especially to young boys (Jess) or girls who have to struggle with life at school, home. Yet when the two becomes really close friends to each other (Jess finally accepts Leslie into his life), reality strikes out of nowhere. That part would make you cry and the part later shows you how he would cope with that lifetime incident and go on. It's beautiful because it displays how much friendship can hold if it's a true one. To people like myself (who enjoy movies for its plot despite anything else), you'll love and learn a lot from this amazing movie.

Bridge to Terabithia follows a young boy without any friends until the new girl joins his school. Together they discover a forest and create a fantasy world within it where they can live away from the real world. The end of the movie was the best part of it. The characters become much more realistic and it manages to actually strike up a bit of emotion. I came close to crying twice at various points in the last 20 minutes. The rest of the movie isn't very good. The child actors are kind of bad, so it's hard to look past them and enjoy the movie for the plot and what-not. But in actuality the plot still isn't very good. It's basically just a couple of kids playing around in a tree house. Sure, they're conjuring up their own plot and stuff, but even then it's not really that interesting. Although I'm sure that plenty of kids would like the fantasy aspect of it.Probably the worst part of this movie are the characters. Everyone is an absolute jerk to the point where they're unrealistic. The writing for the main bully characters is especially bad. I can't really tell if it's on purpose or not, but it's really difficult to take any of it seriously. Maybe that's just because I wasn't bullied when I was younger so I can't relate, but I think that whether or not I've experienced something like this I should be able to relate to or at least understand why these characters would do these things. That's just good writing. The biggest thing that sets the tone of the movie off is the ending. While I thought it was the best part of the movie it switches the tone from childish and fun to realistic and depressing, and it makes me wonder if it was supposed to be a kid's movie or not. Just out of the blue it suddenly throws a pretty mature theme at the audience. so is it for kids or adults? As far as I'm concerned the kids will like the majority of the movie except the ending, and adults will like the ending and that's it. So who's this movie for? Unless there's something I'm missing here. Another big problem I had was the relationship between the main character and his music teacher. Apparently they were relatively close, yet the amount of interactions they have with each other can be counted on one hand. He holds a door open for her once or twice, stares at her creepily, and suddenly they're besties. It just didn't make any sense where their sudden closeness came from. Overall Bridge to Terabithia isn't that great of a movie. While there were aspects that I liked, nor was it a particularly horrible experience to watch, it wasn't really that well made. Maybe I'm missing something, but as far as I'm concerned this is a pretty poorly made movie. In the end I wouldn't recommend it.

I remember reading the book on my last year of primary school and lemme tell ya, it was seriously sad for a 12 year old haha ! I actually forgot all about it, until I've seen the movie airing on Channel 4 today. It really brought memories because actually, my classmates and myself on our school tour in 2007 had a choice to watch either "Pirates of the Caribbean:At World's End" or this. No doubt since I am a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean so I went to see that instead! Anyways let's talk about the film, wow I didn't realise young Josh Hutcherson was on this! May, he looked so young and is different now as a grown up! Himself and AnnaSophia Robb looked so cute together! Their relationship really blossomed as the film went on and that's what I liked about the story because it reflects friendship no matter what age, religion, circumstances, gender you are! I was very saddened that Leslie died because it brought a flashback to me when I read the book in class and heard she got drowned! Very sad! This is the best movie adaption although like any movie taken from novels, it wouldn't be the same as the book. Sure, it's good enough because they did a good job in making this movie happen!
