On winter break in Minnesota, handsome Yale jock Shane Johnson (as Scott) and his cute scar-faced boyhood pal Josh Hammond (as C.J) take Mr. Johnson's underage little brother Jason Dohring (as Robby) to a regular Wisconsin roadhouse for some quick sex. Johnson hooks up with skanky Kiersten Warren (as Jeannine) while Mr. Hammond guzzles beer and pops Pez. Getting "lucky" for the first time, Mr. Dohring is invited to, "Unbuckle those pants, cowboy!" Alas, before everyone gets to climax (apparently), barroom brawls break out between the three interlopers and local rednecks… The three young men hightail it away from the scene. But they are pursued - and eventually terrorized - by the mysterious 1957 "Black Cadillac" which serves as the film's title. Along the way, Johnson picks up redneck sheriff Randy Quaid (as Charlie), who has police car trouble. Writer/director John Murlowski claims this is based on a true story. It's set up as a routine morality play on the sin of sex outside of marriage. With good support from cinematographer Steven Douglas Smith and the crew, Mr. Murlowski's "Black Cadillac" cuts corners, but winds up being an above average joyride.****** Black Cadillac (5/03) John Murlowski ~ Shane Johnson, Josh Hammond, Jason Dohring, Randy Quaid

Well this one surprisingly turned out pretty decent. "Black Cadillac" borrows even a lot more from Spielberg's "Duel" than "Joyride" did. And there isn't even one truck in sight. No hot, sun-laden desert roads here, but icy-cold, nightly, dark, snowy backwoods mountain-roads. That gave the movie a good atmosphere. The low budget shows a bit (once again compared to "Joyride", which had a much bigger one), but it doesn't diminish the fun you'll have with this movie. The acting of the three young protagonists was decent enough. Randy Quaid is good as always. And the Cadillac looked creepy and had a menacing, roaring engine-sound. The ending was satisfying, but not completely unpredictable. So, see this flick on a dark, icy cold & stormy winter night for maximum effect. You probably won't regret it.

I purchased this DVD for $ 5.99 at our local video store thinking it would be a great filler for a rainy night. My curiosity got the better of me so I stuck the DVD into the machine. Five minutes into the movie I soon realized it was going to be good one. Even the three new actors caught my immediate attention and they kept the movie rolling very well. An interesting note about Black Cadillac is.. "It's totally believable ! " Guys can relate to our days of youth trying to get into bars underage looking for booze and ladies. And some of us can remember some of the many brawls that end-up out in the back of parking lots. Once the suspense started; it never let-up until the last 10 minutes when we finally realized who owned the Caddy and why they were stalking the boys. Once again, it brought back memories of a few old classics " DUEL " and "THE CAR." Both of which had top run actors and I seriously believe Black Cadillac was better then both. If you love old cars and you feel like watching a movie with a lot of suspense, then add Black Cadillac to your collection. You will not be disappointed !

Black Cadillac: Revenge In The Driver's Seat. Well put, well put. Sorry guys, I've gotta take the black beauty's side in this story, not the little red sloth. I'm not against little cars, i like the OLD vw bug, but, that aside, i guess i was actually routing for the "villian" in this story. And the vehicle, ha ha.That car, that right there is the single most beautiful machine to ever exist. It's tough as a tank, fast as a jet, and as attractive as Kiersten Warren. Damn, she's a babe! (Am I talking about the Caddy or KW? Well, a truth: not everything is black or white.)The setting: beautiful, the plot: beautiful, the car...perfect. And the movie's as close to it as any other.
