The first prequel film of Indian cinema.First of all, Ajith, fondly called as Thala by his fans did a fabulous job. his stunts and dialogue delivery are awesome to watch. kudos to Dialogue writer Subha and RD Rajasekar for his excellent work behind the camera.A big bow for Yuvan, keeping the pace of the film and the situation in the film well.Songs are good and Ajith does his usual way of waking in the songs and some simple and super steps in Yedho mayakkam song.Going to the negative side of the movie, It is only Director Chakri. He has done some brilliant work in his previous venture with Ulaganayagan Kamalhasan. But he fails with his story. Others have nothing to do in it as the story is the only drawback. As the film is Certified only for adults,The movie does very good for Ajith fans and Action lovers. But for women's and child's the film looks quite bores with lot of Fight and action scenes.

The movie is all about Ajith's heroism - though as a baddie. It is out and out Ajith film. On the flip side, the story lags on-the-edge elements. There are parts where the story is predictable and it could have been made interesting by bringing in some thrill to the story.Billa 2 is stylishly shot, and Ajith carries the film on his shoulders, but that's all there is to it. When it comes to screenplay, logical plots and characterization, it fails to meet expectations.Movie has a wafer-thin storyline. But Chakri Toleti has intentionally kept the pace swift enough, leaving no time for the viewer to notice loose ends. Billa 2 is strictly for Ajith fans who want their favorite star to be seen as an invincible person on the screen always. But one would have preferred to see Ajith as brain than brawny hero.

The most anticipated movie of the year has been finally released after numerous delays. The expectations were sky-high for Billa 2 and to be honest, it did not disappoint. The film is a perfect treat for action-buffs and also Thala fans.As we have known earlier, Billa 2 is the prequel of the 2007 Vishnuvardhan-directed Billa. Directed by Chakri Toleti (of Unnaipol Oruvan fame), Billa 2 is an out-and-out action film which focuses on the rise of David Billa from being a Sri Lankan refugee into a feared underworld don. The film follows a straight, focused path without unnecessary sequences and comedy scenes.Ajith as Billa is as usual stylish, suave and at the same time violent and menacing with his fear-inducing eyes. He played the role to perfection. No other actor could have pulled off such a performance. Thala Ajith deserves a salute for pulling off the death-defying helicopter stunt without a double. Vidyut Jamwal, in his debut in Tamil cinema excelled in his role as Dimitri. His introduction fight sequence is one of the plus points. Like Vidyut, Sudhanshu Pandey also made his Tamil cinema debut as the cunning Goan gangster, Abbasi. He too, excelled in his role. The leading ladies of the film, Bruna Abdullah as Sameera and Parvathy Omanakuttan as Jasmine performed fairly well in their maiden Tamil films. Apart from that, Yog Japi reprised his role as Billa's right-hand man, Ranjith. Manoj K.Jayan, Ilavarasu and Sriman appear in supporting roles while Rahman as Jagdish appears in a cameo.

Billa 2 (2012) Rating: 2.5/5 | Just SatisfactoryBilla 2 is filled with guns and bullet's noise penetrating the ears, including the aggressive action sequences and purports glamour with a parade of at least 30 Item Hot Girls - lifting the "A" certified stamp in the theater. The screenplay and the context of the story is wearing less identity than the item girls - hot clothes bumped in the film. Ajith's performance is typical, smart, spontaneous and also conventionalized as usual the dialogues are lesser than the belly guns in hand - talking with the bullets and firing.Director 'Chakri Toleti' has technically made the film better than Billa 1, but it doesn't mean that he has directed well. Very poor narrative and direction found in the film. Technically speaking Billa 2 was made well, with the good production crew members and in particular cinematography was impressive. Vishnu Varadhan's view of Billa 1 principles are totally engraved with aggressive settings of David Billa and his unfulfilled history. David Billa's every moment, even every second was ripped and carved shot by shot from Brain De Palma's 1983 American crime film "Scarface". The two Tamil language films, directed by Chakri Toleti(Unnaipol Oruvan and Billa 2) both are barely being adapted from the foreign movies. Ajith fans longing for a better movie nostalgia will continue to emanate.Billa 2: A parade of Action and Glamour. Siva / July 2012
