I sat down and watched 40 min of this movie when I finally got sick of it. Is there a written law that in this type of movie a firearm is not allowed to kill an alien? Happens in every one of these movies, every time. Could someone do a movie like this where firearms can kill an alien? Atom bombs are useless too as well as any type of man made weapon. Maybe someone will do a move of this genre and break the mold some day. I'm waiting for it.

Absolutely ghastly movie.Far from the art house talents of Amenabar ,Cocteau, Godard, Ichikawa and Nechayev as you can get. A movie for the intellectual dullards of modern society with no redeeming features whatsoever .Like so many critics I have avoided watching it thus far in order to commemt on its awfulness from a position of lofty disdain for populist entertainment.

Mark Corley (Frank Grillo) finds himself on a stalled subway as the alien invasion begins. LAPD cop Audrey (Bojana Novakovic) tries to keep the group on the train but they insist on leaving. Mark barely saves his hypnotized son Trent from being pulled up to the alien spaceship. The survivors travel along the underground. If the original is a B-movie, this is basically a C-movie. This follows a different group of survivors during that same assault. In the original, I found the last part to be problematic. This movie takes that last part and just keeps going. One also has to remember the red eyed alien from the original and his pregnant girlfriend. The brain thing really doesn't make logical sense. In the original, I took it as poetic license similar to aliens draining our blood in "War of the Worlds". I can't do that this time around since this builds a complete premise around it. At least, it's not a computer virus but it's not that far. For an alien futurism combat, there is way too much hand-to-hand fighting. This has its fun but I can't take it seriously.

5/11/18. This is a decent creature feature with plenty of action. The simplistic plot is easy to follow so you can just concentrate on the fight scenes with CGI alien creatures, which were pretty cool. Actually not bad for a basically unknown movie, a guilty pleasure.
