There is a zombie outbreak on an abandoned street, and Dolph Lundgren spends the majority of the film walking up and down this street with other soldiers killing random zombies who run out every now and again, trying to kill them. After doing this for a while, he bumps into a girl who looks like a young Sigourney Weaver, and she takes him back to the big house at the end of this street, much to the frustration of the other people in the house.Oh, and there are killer robots, and Lundgren gets chained to a lamp post....If you don't mind watching Lundgren walking round for ninety minutes shooting and stabbing things running at him, then this is the movie for you. It's devoid of anything though, decent story, script, characterisation, and any intensity. but when the synopsis states that Lundgren fights zombies with the aide of killer robots, I obviously wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting a little cheesy fun, but I didn't.It goes very bizarre come the end of the film, but shouldn't bonkers movies be a little fun? It's a boring affair from beginning to end, and that's a shame, because this should have been a funny old romp.
... View MoreDolf Lundren is Major Gatling, an elite mercenary hired to rescue a wealthy industrialist's daughter in a city quarantined by a military blockade. The city is isolated because a deadly virus was unleashed and turned the population into rabid zombies(infecteds)similar to those seen in 28 Days Later. While Battle Of The Damned is not nearly as terrifying or as good as 28 Days Later, BOTD is much more survivalist action than horror and a good one at that. If you are only watching this film because you are a Dolf Lundren fan, you need not worry as there is tons of action in this flick. The tone is dark enough and taken seriously to please most horror fans that have seen lots of stuff like this before. Compared to much of what's out there in the zombie/horror genre the gore level is relatively low, but this action packed piece is well done and plenty entertaining.Dolf has great screen presence and he along with the rest of cast had no problem selling this science fiction nightmare with solid acting performances. Overall, Battle Of The Damned is a good low budget(not low quality) zombie/action film worth watching for fans of the genre. I also thought the robots that show up later are cool also.
... View MoreI love Dolph. The movie is what it is. A B crapfest but with some surprisingly good acting and OK story. What I want to know is why I saw this online over 3 years ago and it is supposedly released in 2013.The Zombies and characters are OK for B movie zombies and characters. Dolph is Dolph and the CGI is garbage.I watched this so long ago I am surprised I remember any of it but the fact that I do means it is worth a watch. There is some blood and gore to be found even though most of it is crap CGI. I am not opposed to CGI in any way but there has got to be a line where they should just decide to do the gooey bits old school when the budget doesn't allow for top notch CGI. Have a few pints of vodka and enjoy. CHEERS
... View MoreI was curious to watch this film and I was expecting it to be a real tragedy. Nevertheless I was wrong. First of all, I would like to mention that this is an 100% b movie, not only in terms of budget but also in terms of plot, acting and effects. If you do not stand this facts do not bother with it. Acting is mediocre, effects are not of the best quality and the zombies are sometimes funny. However, the idea is original: what would happen if robots were pitted against zombies and Lundgren was somewhere between? If you like to spend sometime and forget about your everyday problems by watching a brainless, non plot action movie like this, then....why not?
