Virtually every reviewer here gives this film the kind of faint praise it deserves so who am I to argue. I saw this picture under the title "Bail Out" and I'd argue that this was a subliminal set of instructions for the viewer. With David Hasselhoff leading the way, a trio of bounty hunters invades Mexico and Columbian drug lord territory to rescue Linda Blair so she can testify at a murder trial. I knew there was a reason I never tuned into 'Baywatch', and this picture provides the ammunition. It's all pretty mindless, but if you've got a couple of buddies around, a bottle of Seagrams and an hour and a half to kill, you might make it through this turkey feeling no pain. The most instructional thing for me here was to point out that I must have lived through some kind of time warp. Did those monster cell phones ever exist outside of a Seinfeld episode?

View MoreThis film had plenty of humor, drama and all kinds of situations that White Bread, (David Hasselhoff) has to face trying to be a bounty hunter along with some very funny assistants which gave a great supporting role as sidekicks with White Bread and also put plenty of comedy in their roles. There is a motel scene where White Bread stops at a motel with Annette Ridgeway, (Linda Blair) a girl who has been kidnapped and she asks White Bread to stop so she can take a shower because she has been in the same clothes for days. However, Annette and White Bread do wind up in bed with a very comic scene where they pretend to be making love with a squeaky bed. There are plenty of bombs exploding and even a UH-1 Helicopter, Vietnam vintage which makes an attempt to kill all the bounty hunters. This film will entertain you and if you are a big David Hasselhoff fan, you will like to see how young he looked in the Year 1989. Enjoy.
... View MoreThe Hoff is on fire in this hilarious action comedy. Not only is his acting Olivieresque, but his fashion sense is also second to none. 'Bail Out', funded by sportswear company, Head, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular films in cinematic history, peaking towards the finale with the Hoff's triumphant celebration after shooting down the evil helicopter with a flare gun. The 'two arms aloft' ecstatic cry leaves many would-be cinema goers wondering how this genial colossus of a film was ever taken straight onto VHS format. And Thank God somebody had the sense to bring Bail Out to the future generations when they decided to forward it onto the more modern DVD format. Also praise be to Tesco for not only displaying Bail Out on it's shop floors, but also for pricing this masterpiece at the CRRRAAAZZZZYYYY price of 97 pence. All Hail 'The Hoff'! Best line- 'Hit the road f**k face!'
... View MoreThis is one of those career stopping straight to video efforts that should never have been made.I giggle with irony here as this long lost film which for reasons unknown got renamed Bail Out in 1994, has finally landed in the UK shores in a Supermarket cheap DVD range at just 97p! The biggest irony of all of course being that is about what this pile of poo probably cost to make.....Anyway, I digress....Leaving aside the fact that my 97p (about 60c for US readers) DVD was utterly terrible in terms of picture and sound quality, brings me on to film itself.Allow you jaw to drop to the floor in disbelief as you watch some of the worst acting and out of sync dubbing in movie history.Roll on the floor with laughter at Hasselhoff's introduction scene into this mess as he plays tennis in slow motion, and then later he sings in the shower and attempts to ride a horse - both badly! Giggle incessantly at Linda Blair playing the damsel in distress that is straight out of the Hollywood cheap movie handbook. She must have need the cash methinks....Go 'Ooooh' at the ten quids worth of recycled special effects.Belly laugh at the cardboard stereotyped bad guys, the leader of which just has to be seen to be believed. Some of the other stereotypes on offer here are also straight out of central casting.Needless to say the damsel in distress is kidnapped not once but twice (how careless is that?) and of course is rescued with the usual requisite explosions, gun fights and some weird Mexican fella who appears at a crucial moment before vanishing without so much as a reasonable explanation. There is also a reasonable gun fight in a scrapyard towards the start that seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the plot whatsoever, in addition no explanation is offered for the Bail Bond guy's mysterious car change in the opening credits. If you are a fan or collector of Hasselhoff's work, you may want to track this pile of garbage down, especially if you want a laugh.Everyone else is well advised to steer well clear!
