Written by Joe Begos. Directed by Joe Begos. Cinematography by Joe Begos. Edited by Josh Ethier. Starring Josh Ethier and Kristopher Avedisian. The year is 1980-something. Seth is hanging out in the woods at night, just doing his thing, when suddenly weird stuff starts to happen. He flees to the house of his friend Marc, and begs for help. Marc is skeptical, and steps outside with a gun to confront... whatever.Minutes later, Marc is abducted by aliens. Two years pass. Marc is still missing, Seth is still hanging around town, and Marc's girlfriend is now engaged to some other guy. A pair of hunters stumble across a naked body in the woods, and it turns out to be Marc, who is very much alive but a little worse for wear. That's when the killing starts.Bodies begin to pile up as the cast is dispatched with commendable variety: neck snapped; shotgun in the face; throat cut with knife; throat cut with hacksaw; shotgun in the back; axe in the head; scissors in the head; head crushed with a rock.I might have missed a few, but you get the idea. There's a tentacle rape scene that is so outlandish, the protagonist actually stops to watch it for a few seconds before making any attempt to rescue the victim.Overall, this film was a wasted opportunity to make good on an excellent premise.I rate Almost Human at 13.32 on the Haglee Scale, which works out as a disappointing 4/10 on IMDb.

Its an independent film with decent acting that wasn't painful to watch. Each actor lent a very good performance. However, the female lead (in comparison to the other actors) seemed as if she wasn't sure how to act, react or even was familiar with her lines; that was a bit distracting. The movie kept me in suspense, despite random predictability. The directing/cinematography was immersing me into its world, while some shots I felt were too rushed or unnecessary. It is worth a watch just to see something familiar done a little differently.

Acting not the best but not the worse. What really caught my attention was the scene where the almost humans were coming out of their cocoons. Made my think of a bjork video. Really look it up. Where is the line featuring mike patton of faith no more. from the album medulla. I swear it bears a striking resemblance haha. But the movie was interesting. Like alien and species this movie has many sexual......i cant think of the word so i will just say images. Of course its not as good as those but OK to watch for free on netflix. Now i am trying to think of something more to say so this review can be posted which blows my mind since im always seeing other reviews about two sentences long. How do you guys get away with that?

Watched this movie not expecting much and and I must say my expectations were met. Typical B movie material. The acting is forced and the script is totally unoriginal. The effects are somebody's idea of special effects. Everybody at some point has a bloody nose, face or mouth. Not sure what that is all about. Basically it is a movie with bits and pieces borrowed from other movies rolled into a "new" movie with a new name, new faces, new places, etc. It's basically Fire in the Sky meets, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, meets, The Hidden meets, Halloween meets, etc, you add your own... Please spare us and DON'T make a sequel. Not recommended unless you want a good laugh or too.
