In my mid 20's I had an incident that caused me to have severe clinical depression. It was the most painful time in my life. This movie reminded me of that incident - and seeing how the character's coped with grief made me know that someone out there understands what it is like. To help - Arnold is in the film and yes...he gets aggressive. And when someone hangs up on him...he calls back.

I have to say not the happiest of storylines out there, but a very well-acted and directed film. Arnold really stretches his legs dramatically here, and does not disappoint. The supporting cast are excellent as well. As others have said, don't expect overly much in the way of story, and most certainly don't watch it if you're looking for something happy and optimistic, but for a drama with some genuine emotion and feeling, Aftermath is definitely worth a watch. Glad to see Arnold getting into these types of films.

It's a good movie for those who already know the history of vitaly kaloyev. for those who do not know, it leaves much to be desired, especially in the end.

It had a good and promising concept and the first two thirds of the film were really good and intriguing. Arnold Schwarzenegger proved that with the right material he can actually act as he delivered quite a decent performance here, one that works more than just on one note. I think he tried out for an Oscar with that role. I did not like Scoot McNairy and thought he gave an unconvincing and bad performance. Maggie Grace was okay with what she was given to. The direction was fine but a bit monotonic. The screenplay was fine. All of that until the last third, or 15 minutes in particular when the film totally turned its direction and went all over the place. All the motivations were thrown away and it became very unbelievable, technically and morally. A real shame, as it really could have been a solid character drama with many good values. Oh and its one of the prime examples of really bad and misleading marketing.
