A not so impressive script lets some tolerable performance down Because it is Amitabh Bachchan and Anurag Kashyap, and because they have a reputation I am compelled to compare this effort with stuffs like GOT and HOC or may be Breaking Bad, after so much of expertise on the floor, I hope the standards are set I saw a lot of fluctuation, some good patches of well delivered acting, but mostly a timid script, lacked the Grandeur, for someone like Mr Bacchan to be introduced and direction leaves a lot to be desired, I mean this was neither grand like House of Cards, nor as extra-ordinary as Breaking Bad, the last two episodes were melodramatic, Cranston and Spacey must be disappointed by this contention, the script was not done or run neatly, the acting by the way is by far the best seen in Indian small screen, but not good enough, side actors were not handled properly Dhulia was the best of them all in performance, Zakir Hussain was the next BAchchan, had it not been for the over acting in the last two episode was comparatively good A lot of loose ends in the script and narrative left a lot to be desired, nothing was done of the Joker, he just vanished after sometime, the same with Mona Singh, reminds me of loose scripts of old time, leave the kids at home for the last scenes a lot many characters were neither build nor managed well and later left out for the final few episodes, so much for being a Nolan like executive producer....... The last 15 minutes were worse than SmallVille Ending Scenes by far the worst I have seen in TV series

The build up was amazing. There was a constant question of who is doing it and why. There were many random characters who didn't seem random after a few episodes. Every dots starts to connect, and whatever feelings of 'Why was this necessary' you have seems to vanish and every past scene starts to make sense. This has been the trend up to the final few episodes. Here things starts going downhill. The finale was a complete disaster, I mean complete. The director wanted a powerful climax, understood, but what we got was an extremely slow motion action sequence, so slow that even the 300 action sequences will look like Bullet train. 1 or 2 moments in slo- mo is understandable, but the entire action sequence? That is just YAWWWWN.Also, in the finale, I feel the director forgot that the man fighting is a 60+ someone with a neural disease, and Amitabh Bacchan, the super star, took over. Also, when Yudh was fighting, Taruni looked very much at ease even in her predicament.Had it been a normal daily soap, we wouldn't even pay attention to those things, but the director had done a fantastic job in detailing, so, these slight mistakes looked very big, like, 'glaring at your face' big. Also, there were many loose ends, maybe a build up for season 2.Performance wise, everybody was top notch. I really liked Ahana Kumra (Taruni). She is such a natural actress, I might go a little overboard, but in many scenes with Big B, I felt she overshadowed her. Zakhir Hussain as the ever loyal friend, Pavail Gulati as the son and Mona as Secretary was outstanding. But some of the actors were highly underused. Nawazuddin and K K Menon were given blink and you miss roles. Maybe we will get to see more of K K in season 2, I really hope so, because, frankly speaking, he is the only character in the show who had nothing to do with the story. Anyways, hope season 2 comes soon, and will be a cracker. My vote, 8/10.

This is so far the best Indian thriller. Better than most Indian movies. Every character is very defined and likable. Plot revolves around power, business and politics. Amitabh Bachan as always has done a great job. Zakir Hussain's character is surprisingly strong and well defined. He too like most actors has done a great job. And 20 episodes is the perfect length for this story. So the screenplay is very tight. Not much is repetitive and elongated as in most Indian TV series or sitcoms. So you wont find yourself playing with the remote. But sure enough you will have a certain reaction to every character. You will find yourself being sympathetic towards positive characters and feeling hatred and angry towards the negative ones. I myself only watch American and British sitcoms and TV series and surely this was likable.

Yudh, a perfect TV show for the off-beat Indian audience who prefers class over typical Bollywood masala.Amitabh with his great facial expressions is best so far, he is playing an honest builder surrounding with corrupt builders and officials. The show is dark and intense. Everything is happening at a perfect pace with no time for random drama which we usually see in most of the Indian Television shows. All six episodes till now, were directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who doesn't have a big name in the industry. But, with this work he is surely going to get many projects in the future. The most interesting part associated with this series is Anurag Kashyap. He has this talent of making drama and thriller more intense with his input.Although I believe, they should have invested more in the advertisements because people are not very much aware of this.Overall, this is what Indian Television viewers needed, enough of daily soaps now.
