This is the first program I wanted to watch with my brand new TV: as often with me, I evolved from Stone Age to XX century at once: for example, my computer went from Windows 95 to XP. There, I leave a 15 inches TV to a full 47, so my screen gets nearly 8 times bigger! I choose this wrestling show to welcome it for several reasons: I remember that my grandfather watched the french broadcast a very long time ago, that my father watched it on Canal + on Saturday nights (Hulk Hogan, Andre the giant,..) and now it's a hobby that I share with the kid. In fact, that's him who falls first with cards and I followed him. One year ago, I couldn't name any wrestlers whereas now, I can recognize Bastita, Undertaker, Mark Henry,CM Punk… It's a good show for kids because they are introduced with the violence of the world on a light dose and with morality: there are rules for the fights and you can tell why there are bad guys and good guys! Those wrestlers are role models for kids and I applause when I see they participate in reading challenge (actually, our sports models in France go to hookers!).In addition, it is scripted like a show, with cliffhangers, suspense, comedy and artistic wardrobes and names! On a different level, I admit that I envy those wrestlers because they are strong, in perfect health while my body is weak and tired. I have always fantasied about having my soul in a bigger, taller body just to see if people would behave differently. That would be a great experience to define what are we? To go back to the ring, if the fights are great (and sometimes funny), it's a pity that it isn't more sports oriented. I don't understand how the games are chosen, how many belt are there and we can't figure how many fights, win, loses have made the wrestlers.Beginning with WrestleMania XXVI, we will see how up I go

This was never quite as good as Raw, but a top notch show regardless, in my opinion, however it was kind of dull the final couple of years. It had many of my favorites, Stone Cold, The Rock, John Cena, but as I said until it changed to Friday nights, I really lost interest in Smackdown, as there was hardly anybody who interested me except Cena, I never enjoyed JBL as champion, and while Eddie and Angle were both great champions, when JBL got it got a little boring. Cena was a very good champion on Smackdown for a short while, before he got shipped to Raw in the draft, and of course it also had "The Game" Tripple H! plus it had so many other great champions as well. Until recently though, this was always the inferior show to most people, including me, however I always felt it was underrated, plus One of the coolest moments of all time is when Stone Cold helped Vince Mcmahon win the WWE title. It's also famous for Arnie showing up on Smackdown, and it lots of other memorable moments as well, plus Stone Cold created many brilliant moments of course!. This was never quite as good as Raw, but a top notch show regardless, in my opinion, however it was kind of dull the final couple of years, still it was a wonderful show!. ***** out of 5P.S It looks to be getting back to where it was, now that it has a lot of great young talent!.

Smackdown! is real. There's a lot more action than on Raw. That whole Kane thing is so ridiculous. I mean give me a freaking break. Raw is trash. Smackdown! has better wrestlers and by far more superior than Raw. If you enjoy watch good wrestling, Smackdown! is where it's at.

<<This comment is based on WWE Smackdown as of December 30,2002>>I have to say that WWE Smackdown has really lost alot of its edge. Big stars that were featured on the program are missing(Rock, Hogan, Undertaker mainly)and that has really hurt the star quality. There are some decent matches here and there(one involved a ladder match between Edge and Eddie Guerrero thatwas phenomenal) but the show really has taken a turn for the worse. Lousybackstage drama(who cares that Dawn Marie is going to wed Al Wilson, TorrieWilson's father?) Such drama has nothing to do with wrestling. I find it annoying, to be frank. Another element that irritates me to no end is the lousycommentating job by Michael Cole. He is absolutely terrible. He also makesshameful plugs for the Smackdown show during matches, spouting things offlike: "Where else are you going to see action like this? Smackdown is the best wrestling show on television!" and other similar things. He needs to go. Theshow does not have the electricity that its RAW cousin has. WWE, please, putsome excitement back into Smackdown!!
