Agree with the others who rate the first season way higher than the second. Love Lucy Punch's quirkiness. Her replacement is a snooze, and brings down the whole show. Enjoy the first, all-too-short, season, and then search for something else.
... View MoreThe energy between the two characters was nice and set the stage for some fun dialog. The problems is the show promotes violence between domestic partners as perfectly OK. At a minimum domestic violence is simply not a very good comedic device. For example in the very first episode Lucy Punch commits blatant physical domestic abuse and battery against her husband. She literately breaks bones and keeps him on the ground as she beats him with a weapon as a way of dealing with her unfounded suspicion that he was sleeping with another woman. He wasn't not that it matters whatsoever, but that was used as legitimate justification for her beating him."I am sorry that I hit him, but I would like Dan to acknowledge that we had been having problems." Does she go to treatment for her violent behavior? No! In episode two they go to couples counseling as if BOTH have issues to work on. What kind of message is being put out here? Violence, as long as it is the woman, is a really good way to work on relationship issues.great
... View MoreA foot in mouth review.I had never heard of this show, I recently discovered it on Netflix, OMFG it is amazing, this is on another level of funny, Hot Fuzz is the closest thing to it that I know of. So well written and executed performances! I told a couple of the lads about this show and they have fallen in love with it. I will admit to this because I am a man a manly man, I laughed so hard I cried and peed on the sofa, good thing mine is leather. Season 1 episode 3 is incredible!I don't want to say to much because you have to experience it. Toby Stephens is utterly epic in this program as DI Jack Armstrong and steals the show really he plays an utter git, but he is so likable because he is an ass.I really would love to see this show come back!
... View MoreHave now watched 2 episodes of this comedy and I am hooked - it does what it should do - it's funny and it makes me laugh - Brilliant ! The two lead characters interact well and the unfolding of their private lives becomes more interesting as the series progresses and the villains /suspects characters all appear to have motives and are also amusing in their own irreverent way. A bit predictable in places but generally a good funny series with some nice observations on the habits of the individual lead characters.I believe that this series will improve as time progresses and hope that the remainder of the series achieves the viewing figures that this funny, quirky comedy deserves.Full marks to the writers for producing something different ...... and succeeding in their efforts to make us laugh.
