This sitcom had a lot of potential! It came in a time where most sitcoms were about goofy humor, emo characters and things like that; properly said, to adapt to social reality. The truth is that "Twins" was a clever, smart, show that probably lacked of more physical comedy and witty humor.Melanie Griffith did a fine performance as the sexy, oh very sexy mother while Sarah Gilbert carried the show on her back as the mature sister. The sexy younger sister delivered in part some of the goofy dialogs and visual attractive.I think that the plot lacked of a punch but it wasn't boring at all. Maybe some situations were not executed in a funnier way.Still, this show was destined to syndication.

OK well i have to say, considering who created it i was expecting it to be a little better than it is - will & grace is one of the best sitcoms ever and so i was expecting this "brand new comedy from the makers of will & grace" to be hilarious and just effortlessly funny but i kinda agree with the fact that sometimes it seems forced. however, i don't think its a bad show, far from it actually, i do find it funny a lot of the time, but i don't think the characters are developed well enough for the storyline to be interesting. there isn't really a very deep storyline to it, its just random week to week events that don't seem to link together. if they wanted it to take off if, they should do something interesting with it and create some kind of edge to the characters and their relationships with each other, because its all a bit one dimensional and its missing that spark that it needs. the acting is pretty good overall, sara gilbert is the best IMO because she's just naturally funny and talented, i even remember her character from will & grace, even tho she was only in one episode, because she was just funny without trying.(speaking of will & grace and its creators, didn't you just know that they would have to put a gay character - neil - in their new show too?! not that i have a problem with it because it does work, in fact they should probably have more gay characters, why not have a gay female character for a change, we don't see too many of them) anyway moving on, i think they should continue and do another season of this show as they could do so much more with it. i say let the characters and storyline have a chance to develop and evolve into another one of the best sitcoms because it has the potential to.

I disagree with the other post about this being a good kids sit-com. This is actually a very well written sit-com. My roommate and i Tivo it regularly and watch it when we can. The problem with the show is it's on the wrong night at the wrong time. The target audience for this show is 20-30 and mostly females. Why the hell it's on at 9:30 on a Friday night and after Reba is beyond me. Their audience is already out on a Friday night at this time the Reba folks are Midwest married folk. They are not going to be interested in this San Francisco gen X humor. The exec producers are responsible for Will and Grace, Four Kings, and Good Morning Miami. Great writers and the actors are really warming up to their characters. Srah and Mark Linn-Baker are excellent. Molly Stanton has the blonde thing nailed down with out being too over the top and you know what? Melanie is charming in her role. The sexual innuendos are exactly why I watch this show. Brilliant and I can't believe they get away with it on Broadcast TV. Well Done!!! I just hope it's around next year what with the UPN-WB merger.

I've come to like this show as it has started to grow on me. Although I've seen this formula before (two sisters, the brainy one and the gorgeous one), the twist is that they're fraternal twins. It reminds me a little bit of the '80's sitcom "Double Trouble," except that these twins aren't identical. I think the show has its funny moments and has potential. It is a good vehicle for the stars playing the sisters. Mitchee (the brainy one) and Farrah (the gorgeous one) are good characters who despite their differences get along. It has a good supporting cast as well. I hope this show stays around for at least a few years because it is funny and can get better if given the chance. The stars do a good job in their roles.** 1/2 out of ****
