Watched the first episode today, loved it and so did my husband I do remember watching the move several years ago and also enjoyed it. cant wait for next weeks episode. When advertised both my husband and I thought it was a movie so we are now very keen to get hold of the books to read. It really is not as far fetched either, Being made in Australia and Australian actors makes it even better, we have a great film industry here. The sets are very realistic and love the setting of the Victorian countryside and my husband could not find much fault with the military arms or vehicles. It was also very pleasing that there was diversity in the cultures. Wishing the series a great run. Is also one series that I want to own.

Like a number of other reviewers I have read all the books, but it must be over 7 years ago. The detail & character development in the books was fantastic & the action sequences were so well written that it was possible to believe you were living every moment with the group! The emotional impact of the events on the characters was also explored in detail, which could never occur in a movie or a TV series! I was extremely pleased to hear that there was an ABC series of the book(s) because I believe John Marsden to be an excellent & talented writer. I really enjoyed the series. I believe the characters were well developed & the action was great & reflective of that of the books. I was disappointed when the series ended & have been meaning to let the ABC know that we should have multiple follow-up series! I am quite disappointed that the ratings for the series is so low when it is an extremely enjoyable & highly satisfying TV drama!

Warning may contain some spoilers:If I hadn't read the books I would probably be loving this series. It is well made and I love Deborah Mailman. However I did read the books and feel disappointed at the changes. Following the parents really goes against the point of the book which is showing what young people can do. John Marsden wrote the books to show the potential of young people. Small changes are fine but they have changed a lot and are into events of book two and haven't blown up the bridge which is a major plot development! I do like the music and film style however. I understand budget could be an issue. I will keep watching however as I loved the books.

I'm a huge fan of the Tomorrow series and have read them so many times, when I heard from a (suposed) cast member they were making a TV series I was excited. I couldn't wait to see it but when I saw the actors online I knew it'd suck. The characters were wrong, they don't match the descriptions in the book. Or capture the essence of the book characters, even the ones from the movie matched much better. The acting is horrible too (but I guess you've got to start somewhere) and the series is absolutely nothing like the book - not even the locations are close to the book. We can't win them all I guess. I'm sure to a non-fan the series will be fine, if they can ignore the acting. Its very disappointing and I truly never wanted to say this. Good luck in the future though, to those actors. They can only get better with practice.
