The show is about normal life of a kid. There is nothing speacial about it unless you grew up watching it. Notice that nost people who liked it are people that grew up and watched that. For people who were burn in the 1990's there's nothing special about this show. Nice, normal good lessons for life, predictable script...

View MoreThe wonder years covered the life of a young boy growing up in a lovely leafy suburb in America. With every episode covering a real life situation that many of us face, you couldn't help but be attached.Young Kevin Arnolds life is covered from a small boy growing into a teenager, almost a young man. With topics covering major world wide incidents and trends the series last six years but covers more like 15 years. With great soundtracks played throughout with leaving no doubt what era the Arnold's are living in. With love, girlfriends, brothers and sisters, school and friends and family you will relate.I watched this every week without fail, I'm yet to see another show that would cover all these growing pain issues and more. Classic writing and acting.A real shame it was never released on DVD due to the high costs of the music royalties.
... View MoreWonder years is a rarity among the modern day sitcoms. To be honest, i have never seen anything like this my whole life. It tells the story of young Kevin Arnold(Fred Savage) between the time he starts junior high and finishes high school. The whole series is presented to the viewer as a narration. Kevin lives in a quiet suburb with his family. His childhood sweetheart Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) and Paul Pfieffer(Josh Saviano) live next door, with whom he spends most of his time. This show made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me think about friendship and family bonding. It reminded me of my childhood and about the things which i did and did not. Altogether, a wonderful experience for the young and the old alike. I am sorry that this great show has not made a debut on DVD because of licensing issues. I hope some day the producers would release the DVD so that this dramatic gem is not lost in the tides of time. If you get an opportunity to watch a taped version, don't miss it...
... View MoreI will not retread the ecstatic reviews of thousands of people like me who consider this show to be the best, most touching TV series ever.Indeed, it was funny, resonant, nostalgic without being too bittersweet or manipulative to the audience.I have been looking for years to get it on DVD but I have read that copyright issues over its soundrtack have prevented such an eagerly-awaited release. Is there any way to start an internet movement to convince the powers-that-be to get over their differences and get the DVD out? I (and, I am certain, a myriad others) would be willing to even pay a higher-than-normal price, if that is what it would take.
