This show is the perfect replacement for Colbert Report. Since Colbert moved and lost host edge, and Jon left us with Trevor, I've been feeling like no one was doing anything noteworthy in Late Night. I was just about to go to bed at a decent hour, when this show began. It is everything I ever wanted and more. Klepper was well trained by Stewart, and it shows every night. It's that perfect Colbert combination of political commentary and pure comedy, and its very smart. Personally, I'm just a satire lover, and this fills the recent void of smart, sharp, silly satires that are always my favorite. If I can't have old Colbert, this is the next best thing.

I´m a german guy and think i can contribute some sort of outside perspective with my review. I never watched The Colbert Report but am a big fan of The Late Show and The Daily Show and this sort of political comedy (Thank you, Youtube!).I liked Jordan Kleppers contributions to The Daily Show. After watching the first episodes of The Opposition i knew, that i would watch every last episode (and i hope there will be many of them in the future). I will not dispute, that there are funnier guys on the planet than Jordan Klepper (The Award for the funniest guy goes to... Joe Stapleton), but i think, that shows like The Opposition are important to uncover the dirty methods of guys like Alex Jones. In my opinion there is no greater danger for democracies around the world than discrediting the free press. We don´t have a guy like Alex Jones on national television in germany, but we have politicians of the right-wing Party and nationalist organizations discrediting the media as partisan and biased on every occasion. In turkey more than 100 journalists are in prison, because of alleged terrorist activities. Trumps and Jones´ war with the so-called Fake News or MSM is so disturbing, because other world leaders might use the same tactics in the future to eliminate political and public Opposition. The episodes with Kobi uncovering the methods of the so-called Journalist Lee Stranahan and his Citizen Journalism School deserve an Emmy or any other prize für excellent television the US has...And please, dear Americans, MAKE THE WHITE HOUSE GREAT AGAIN

~ This show tries so hard to be funny and poignant but is neither. The whole nyah-nyah, I am so much brighter than you schitck is not only over done, these shallow skits offer nothing revealing unless the viewer is a total dolt. ~ The parade of guests (many I imagine are writers) is also painfully unfunny.

I didn't like Jordan Klepper on the Daily Show, but in this new format he really manages to shine. He's not Colbert, but it's a very good start. The writers are really good too, the mockery of Alex Jones wasn't simply funny but also precise and informative. I'll keep watching.
