Each and every actor absolutely kills it in this show. From the first second on, the characters are brought to life perfectly. Nowhere else have I ever seen such great chemistry between actors on TV. This is paired by intellectually provoking, intense dialogues, offered at an amazing velocity. There is not a single moment of boredom here. Point after point after point being made... Even the very few cheesy scenes are a less cheesy compared to other TV shows. With a compelling mix between mind challenges and entertainment, this show hits it right on the spot. It makes you think without being lecturing.Emily Mortimer is totally hot - not least because of the intelligence and dedication she incorporates so well into her role. And the Slumdog millionaire as the young tech-savvy journalist kid delivers a top notch performance from the first scene on... I could go on like this for every actor/character there is...With only a tiny number of exceptions, this high level TV making is kept all the way until the end of the 3rd season. Without a doubt one of the best satires there is!!!

The series was awesome as far as the acting and the script, But it was easy to see that the show was created to push the agenda of the left. Much of the agenda is a matter of opinion, but when it got to the issue of global warming, it was so far off the real situation, that I wanted to stop watching it. The left still pushes the narrative that humans have been destroying the planet with CO2. But you can go to any web page and see that well over 90% of the greenhouse gases is water vapor, and the percentage caused by humans is less than 0.2 percent. The narrative is that the average temperature will increase 20 degrees in a few years. But even assuming it to be true, if you multiply 0.2 times 20 degrees, the result is that humans will have caused the average temperature to increase less than 4 degrees, which no-one would even notice.

By now, anyone who wants a plot summary can easily get it, so I'll dispense with that.I'm bingeing this for the 2nd time. I still love what I loved and hate what I hated. Another way to put it: I still rewind when I miss a word of dialogue, but I still FF when a character is getting on my nerves.Like almost everyone, I found Maggie offputting, but the performance I couldn't tolerate was Emily Mortimer as Mac. (I realize I'm out on a limb here, but so be it). Overact much?! In every scene, she's leaning forward, or leaning backward. Or she's standing tilted to the side. Arms are flaying everywhere. Oh, and does she own stock in Ugly Silk Blouse Ltd? This knocked it down to 8 out of 10, and I had to subtract another point for the ubiquitous office romance. Sure, it's fine to subtly hint at it, I guess, but when you have 2 main characters groping each other on a staircase in full view of the entire staff? C'mon, stay classy. With all this whining out of the way, I'm really sad it didn't hang in there. I can see why this was not an easy show to produce, but dang. It was good while it lasted.

We actually need this back badly (not "bigly", though if that word existed that too). It's 2017 and especially season 1 resonates more than well and could've fitted right in. Anyone could predict the direction things were taking, but both parties could not stop it. For better or worse America has a president now who'd accuse the Newsroom of being Fake News. They're not (mostly that is) and they actually have something to tell. The show is more than well written and sometimes slips into straight out comedy (almost stand up situations), but it works well ("welly"?). The very first season and especially the very first scene is amazing and warrant a 10/10. The following 2 seasons fall shorter, not by much (unless you count the number of episodes in each) but that's why I decided to go with 9/10. Still more than amazing and maybe one of the best shows made in the 21st century. If you don't mind it's very "talky" mindset, you will love it
