As an anniversary gift to his live-in girlfriend Joan who met when they were in the third grade, Ethan throws a surprise party inviting their entire third-grade class. A Few members of the class agree to come although they have not seen each other in years. This is a stupid premise. The biggest problem is the difficulty to manufacture reasons for the group to come together. It felt forced, and it's too easy for the group to drift off. Once apart, it is too difficult to create chemistry. What saves this is the fun group of actors. The lead Jason Ritter is a solid actor with some of his father's comedic timing. Andrea Anders is the girl next door. Jesse Tyler Ferguson plays the married guy who falls for the geeky girl. Lizzy Caplan plays girl Friday to Jason Ritter's character. And wacky Lucy Punch stars as a flustered reporter. Even though the group is apart a lot, these actor give enough fun to create chemistry. That's hard to do.

When I first started watching 'The Class', I didn't connect with all the characters straight away. As the season progressed and the characters opened up, it didn't take long for them to grow on me.As a fan of 'Friends', I can't say that this matches it completely but I have to say it comes close. The jokes are rather similar, using a lot of sarcasm along the way, and a few scenes have made me laugh out loud. However, as you may expect, some of the gags were rather a cliché and obvious. I like the lack of music during scene changes, it makes the show feel less like the usual US sitcom and makes a change from 'Friends'. The laughter track lets it down a little although some scenes would appear quite empty without it.My personal favourite has to be Richie Velch. He has made me laugh the most and I enjoy his sarcasm, in some ways he is like Chandler from 'Friends'. However, I managed to find a connection with all of the characters and felt for them when things didn't go quite the way they wanted.Overall, I would recommend 'The Class' to anyone who enjoys a light hearted comedy, it has something for everyone and will make anticipate the next episode. It's not perfect but it deserves at least an 8/10 from me and I really hope it returns for a second season.

This is the funniest sit-com that came out of the new season! But, where is Holly Ellenbogan?? Her and her "gay" husband were so funny. Does anyone know, has she been written out of the show? I hope this is a show that will last for more seasons. We haven't had a funny show like this since Seinfeld. I love the fact that the cast is brand-new to us, and the characters have evolved into their own. Richie is priceless, and the relationship he and Lena have is so great. Thanks CBS for bringing back the wacky sit-com! If anyone knows if this will be back next season, post it here. I can't wait for Monday nights just to watch!

The Class is a comedy series that portrays a bunch of 27-year-old former class mates.I like the idea of the show. That's why it saddens me that The Class is not funny, even though it has the obvious potential. It's not enough corky, just dorky. (Haha.) This is due to a slowish tempo and the lack of actually hilarious punch lines. Also some actors have difficulties with timing. Most inventively written characters are the twins Kat and Lina Warbler (Lizzy Caplan and Heather Goldenhersh) but even they seem just a little too square for the good of the show. On the other hand the characters I find most uninteresting are the main character Ethan and the used-to-be- couple Duncan and Nicole. What bothers me with the series is that the only Latino character Aaron is being picked on for his accent (even though by a non-respectable character, but anyway).
