This show initially really interested me but unfortunately it hasn't been as entertaining as I would have hoped. Although the concept is good and overall the episodes are decent I just can't help but notice the shortcomings. For one thing some of the character backstories are rather odd and don't feel natural. They are too far fetched and a bit too melodramatic. Perhaps if they had let the drama unfold slowly instead of cramming everything into the first few episodes it would have been more believable. Right now they are all just completely dysfunctional and aggressive. As a whole Stalker is full of suspense with lots of twists and turns. It's a solid idea and there's plenty of potential to develop into a really great show. The characters need to be worked on as they are not particularly charismatic at this stage even with the super talented cast but with time I believe it can only get better.

A well trained police officer with martial arts skills get loose twice from her handcuffs, punch out the "Ray" the attacker, then run for the door. Why would he leave the keys for the handcuffs on the table?? Just to check if he could trust her... crap. Several times she have either a knife or other items she easily could have "killed" or harmed "Ray" with, why didn't she finish him off.... two times he was down, half unconscious. She is so clear and focused until she gets loose, then she starts panicking.... All this just so the others can come and save her.... what about reality... again wasted time starting following a show, then its crap at the end. Hollywood writers - wake up....

If you are checking out the reviews you will notice that the earlier ones are very negative at times about gratuitous violence against women in this show, if the reviewers had actually bothered to wait until they had seen a couple of episodes before judging they would come to realise that men get their fair share of gratuitous violence against them too. Is the show violent.. yes, but no more violent than many other 10pm shows. The ongoing narrative is good, the 'case of the week' is diverse and in many instances a bit different from the majority of what has gone before in the cop genre. Stalker certainly delivers some proper edge of the seat moments. Don't let the one episode wonders who seem to know everything on day one put you off, this is good TV.

To me, this has been disappointing TV season. I started watching "Scandal" with great expectations, but after six episodes I decided to call it quits; "Scandal" is crap, predictable and always swinging for the lowest hanging fruit. Same for "Masters of Sex", which has been very dull. So with the sour taste still in my mouth from those disappointments, I didn't expect much if anything from "Stalker", but ...it's a good show. The characters are written and acted well enough that I can't guess what's going to happen next, and the dynamics between the two-woman/two-man cast of main characters is compelling enough that their histories and interaction keep pulling me into the story. So I'm adding this to my list of great shows: Walking Dead, Suits, Orange is the New Black, The Good Wife, Mad Men, Sherlock, The Americans, True Detective, etc.
