Can you honestly ask the writers of the world for a more thrilling soap opera directed toward the younger generations? NO! Spyder Games was an immense combination of drama of all types: from gossip and deceit to disrespect and MURDER. The show had everything you could ask for, and if it was allowed a longer run with better advertisement, I am almost positive that it would've done better than any other soap opera out there! Much better than some of the teen dramas now, at least. The plots were very well written and extremely unpredictable. You could never point your finger in one direction for more than a couple of episodes before you were back to the beginning and left in suspense! You could never figure out what would happen next, but when it did, it was the perfect story. I, personally, watched this show religiously until the very final episode and I would give my left arm to see it back on the air. Okay...maybe I wouldn't give up any limbs but I would definitely shave my head for an entire year. BRAVO TO THE CREATORS! GREAT JOB! And, just a side note, any writers from Spyder Games would make a phenomenal team with the writers of Nip/Tuck to shock us over and over again. :]

Okay so SPYDER GAMES will never win an EMMY, or GOLDEN GLOBE, Okay so it will never win any award, but it is definetly one of the most engaging and intriguing series i have ever seen. The plots and sub-plots are shocking and hilarous and moving and dramatic. The acting is what u should expect from what is made up of mostly newcomers. however soem performances, like those of Shawn Batten, and Christina Chambers are standouts! The guys are goodlooking, like byron fields (the incredably sexy Ivan), Bryce Mouer (Lyle), and the hottest of them all the one and only Dimitri Carlise himself (cannot remember his name). The writing is aboslutley great! i would recommend this show to anyone that is into sexy, escaptist fun! bravo to MTV for creating and airing such a brillant, sexy and overall great series!

So maybe _Spyder Games_ is not the most original show on television. And maybe the actors are a little green. And well, yeah, the story lines are a bit predictable. But so what? _Spyder Games_ is less an original soap and more an homage to the genre. And when it comes to the completely empty calories and mindless entertainment soaps provide, _Spyder Games_ is spot on.The creators of the show are self-proclaimed longtime soap fans, and it clearly shows in their work. SG utilises practically every plot twist and character flaw classique ever used, save the ground-breaking [don't laugh] Ivan-is-gay story line. (Well, Erica's daughter is a lesbian on _All My Children_, so perhaps 'unprecedented' is more appropriate. Gay men are indeed a soap rarity.) And while the plot may seem a bit trite, there's something amusing and comfortable in such blatant cliché.SG really deserves kudos for its campy experience in escapism. If anything, it offers its viewers a half hour out of the day to abandon all faculties of the brain and space out in its mindlessness. Its one stroke of true genius is a cast including _Sunset Beach_ alum Shawn Batten and Christina Chambers, Go-Go's guitarist and green-haired pixie Jane Wiedlin, and the John Waters Baroness Mink Stole. Beyond that, it's just brilliant. And not in the conventional sense, but rather in its reverence to the housewife-stories from which it was born.

This show is exactly why I am a slave to MTV's target marketing, even if I'm not in the TRL demographic! Understandably, it's not very cerebral, but it's what I look for when I hit MTV; it's engagingly entertaining. I enjoy the storylines on 'Undressed', but this show - since it's a serial - can expand on the relationships beyond a week or two. The interview of Byron Field (Ivan) in OUT was what got me interested in watching, and I haven't been disappointed. And from singing telegram girl to coffeeshop owner, I haven't gotten to see this much of Jane Wiedlin outside of E! in a long time! The only recommendation I have is to let Natalia quote Dolores Claiborne more often. I hope it keeps rolling...
