Like this show. I tend to like Brit plots and characters and this show is no exception. Gorgeous scenery, very good acting. Only issue is a very distracting wound on J Perez' forehead that keeps moving around. Within the same scene even. Up, down, left, right, above this wrinkle, across, etc., etc., etc. First series show 2. Good god! Like someone was always drunk when making up the actor - or completely inexperienced.

What a find. Beautiful landscape and scenery. Talented actors. Great writing with twists and turns that you think you see coming but you're still not sure.

This is a superb series. The writing is great and well thought-out, something that is missing in most shows today. The pace is excellent. This series could go on for dozens of seasons and would still hold my interest. Add this to your must-have watch list!

I came across this TV show very much by accident when I signed up for BBC Iplayer. In all the time it's been running I've never once seen any advertisement for it. I feel so sorry for anyone who hasn't yet discovered this show! The acting is really good and every character is very believable. Many of the characters obviously change from one episode to the next, I'm so proud to see so many of my countrymen with such brilliant talent. I know some of the actors aren't actually Scottish but are able to replicate the accent so well, I'm even more impressed with them. Seriously high calibre of actor here.I feel it shows a fair representation of the Scottish people as well. We obviously come in all shapes. sizes and varying degrees of good and evil and its great to see that acknowledged. I find the stories are very relatable and realistic, you can actually believe something like this could happen, exactly as its told. The investigation also seem realistic to me, especially compared to some other crime shows. You can follow the investigation easily too, there are no mad jumps that just happen to get you to the killer, its all very methodical and well thoughtout.Blasted through the first 3 seasons and now sitting on tenderhooks week to week waiting to see what happens next. Douglas Henshaw has been one of my favourite actors since Primeval and season 4 is even better with Stephen Walters also present. I was so shocked to find he's from Merseyside rather than Scotland. His Scots is better than my own! And the actress who plays Tosh... wow. I really enjoyed her character all the way through and really feel her pain. So believable, I've laughed with her and more recently cried with her. Just want to crawl into the box and give the poor love a hug. Seriously great writing, great actors, great show.... MUST WATCH for any fan of crime drama's
