My fiancée has me watching "Sex and the City" and we are currently on the 3rd season and I noticed Sarah Jessica Parker listed as a producer. I can't believe that she would help perpetuate her own insipid, whiny character, Carrie. She is the least interesting of the 4 ladies. She wants her shining knight but then cavalierly sleeps with numerous men. She acts like such a screeching brat that I can see why Mr. Big married someone else. She smokes everywhere--at a skating rink, in other people's houses and even at an outdoor funeral. The show depicts NYC as a do-what-you-want type of place, but it's so restrictive thanks to Mayor Bloomberg that you can't even smoke in Central Park lest a skating rink! Miranda's character is the second least appealing. She is a smug know-it-all feminist lawyer who is in actuality self-conscious and not at all as confident as she seems. The reason why I continue to watch is for Kim Cattrall's character Samantha who is given the most entertaining role of all 4 women. She gets into the most hilarious situations and lightens the script from the two doom and gloom characters above. I also like Charlotte who is sweet and probably out of her league in cutthroat NYC.The show over-glamorizes the one-party borough, nanny-city of Manhattan.

Sex and the City (1998-2004) is one of my absolute favorites for many reasons. First off, it sports an incredible cast! Sarah Jessica Parker stars as Carrie Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall plays Samantha Jones, Cynthia Nixon is Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis plays Charlotte York. The casting is spot on, every actress plays their character perfectly. It's true that they're all a joy to watch, Samantha Jones is my personal favorite, she's truly hilarious and just when you think she can't think about anything other than casual sex, she surprises you with her big heart. I love that each character has their own style and they are so different as people, yet they fit together perfectly as a friend group. The writing is just great. It is full of witty, hilarious humor, touching moments between these well developed characters, and it's all pulled together by the great chemistry that hovers over the whole show. Another thing I love is how real the show is, especially about sex. All is revealed. The dialogue is uncensored and that works for the show. Overall, this is a very entertaining, well written show that I definitely suggest! 10/10.

Let me tell you, by season 4 you will get sick and tired of the characters and this show. All this show implies is that women like shoes, they spend their free time complaining about their relationships they sabotage themselves, then throw away the poor guy for a minor flaw or miscommunication just to go and have sex with a new guy with the same destiny. They expect all and refuse to be expected of something.Generally, it is a very plain Merry go round with every episode focusing on a 30-something woman's childishness, emotional problems and constant over thinking. Don't forget the introduction of some new sex concept into every other episode to keep you updated. They don't know what they want apart from glamour. Yes, their fashion sense and all the expensive clothing is amazing. Other than that, they have nothing to offer. Sure, it is a fun show to watch, it is entertaining and has its funny moments. But it starts to frustrate you a few seasons in with it's lack of.. well.. brain. I would just not like to be in their shoes, even if it's a Dolce & Gabbana pair.
