You could be forgiven for thinking Peter Dutton (our recently installed czar of the new Department of Homeland Security) used much of the plot as a career chart. Though there are parts that strain belief (e.g. the main character having sniper take a shot at her while rowing on Lake Burley Griffen, making her way to the shore and then sitting down panting, still in the open), this is a really well written and acted Australian political drama. For those who want evidence that we can still do compelling TV, not just reheated reality shows and trash soapies, this series will help restore your faith.

This program is no exception. The characters are indeed excellent and the actors are so believable against the backdrop of a properly paced thriller, that is not engulfed in over the top special effects.
... View MoreAn excellent series in six tidy episodes. A little slow at times but picks up quickly with some really great plot twists. Good ending with a perfect setup for next season.
... View MoreFor all of those that want quick erratic thrill, tune in to ABC or NBC or CBS...foxtel made a brilliant political thriller! What you might perceive as slow, I perceive as a steady pace where the stakes are high and the tension never lets go! Just what a thriller should be! I've never been a fan of shock and awe when it comes to these types of series; that's a give away of poor writing and storytelling.. You keep it tight, you keep it real...and that is the hallmark of a great show!
