Watched during the fall a couple of episodes, and simply couldn´t continue, waste of time. Then decided that perhaps I´ll check the final one. Oh boy, it was simply disgusting. No character to like, and filled with cheap clichés of S France all the way through. But well, this will not be a last one on the pile of crap on film. Not a real credit for any of those involved. Your time is better used doing something else than watching this

... View MoreThree disclaimers: 1. I have nothing but admiration for Julia Stiles' talent as an actor. 2. Because of the aforementioned, and really because of the acting cast generally, I'm glued to this series 3. Dmitri Leonidis deserves special mention for succeeding in conjuring a fictional character who is literally unsurpassed in my experience for annoyingness. What a dick. Having said that, for real-life tools, Paul McGuiness has to take the gong/hammer/a good whack, anyway, for bastardising a production that should have been very special. Maybe he thinks that offending and disappointing one or two people such as Neil Jordan for instance, is trivial in comparison with the numbers of 'ordinary' viewers who may be non-offended enough to part with $. The problem is that this 'ordinary' viewer is cringing. It's genuinely mortifying hearing some of the dialogue. It's throwing me right out of the experience, reminding me that there are many idiots in the world and that quite a few of them manage to get to places where they can do real harm- in this case to the screenplay/script/whatever you call it when it's a TV series. I'd rather be writing happy positive reviews of stories I love, but the waste of talent here has me sad, and there is a need to make it known that this isn't good enough. Once again, it has to be said: If you're a smart producer, you'll be able to make a thing of high quality that the masses will love. FIND A WAY NEXT TIME, DAMN YOU.
... View MoreThe pros: The scenery. Oh my God. So beautiful places. Anthony LaPaglia. He's great even with those very few scenes. Some of the cast: Lena Olin (great lady), Adrian Lester, Iwan Rheon (I'm a fan from his Misfits's days.), Amr Waked ( I didn't know him but he's great) and all the foreign cast. The general idea. The cons: There are so many. I don't know where to begin.First of all: Julia Stiles. I mean seriously? The girl CAN'T ACT. Every time she's holding a gun, I'm laughing to tears.Roxane Duran's character. What a spoiled little brat. Too many clichés. Bad bad bad direction. There's a scene that someone has been shot in front of Stiles, she's almost full of blood and she keeps on seeing her hands, THE ONLY PART that has not a single drop of blood. NOT EVEN ONE. The writing is SO BAD that even the good actors are below their standards. The father has died and all in the family are shocked but we don't see anyone crying.Save your time. Better google French Riviera and see the photos. Now this is way much more interesting than this show.
