Loved this series, I'm not bothered about historical accuracy etc it kept me wanting more after every episode ... but ... the ending was so abrupt and came from nowhere, all of a sudden we where 20 years later and Mary was beheaded, God only knows what happened in France with Catherine and the monarchy .... really disappointed with the ending otherwise this would have got 10 stars from me !

If your going into this expecting historical accuracy like the other reviewer who has posted here then your going to be disappointed. Yes it is set in a historical point in time but that dose not mean its trying to be a historical show. Think of this as a fanfic with historical characters. Now if your looking for good drama with pretty dresses and pretty actors you got it here. It's enjoyable and I was hooked on episode one.

Originally after finishing the first season I gave it a 10 stars. In my opinion the show got weak as soon as the 4th season started BUT this show grows so much on me that I was curious to know what will happend to the characters. As soon New love interest started for Queen Mary it was hard to stop watching. I got so excited again. Everything got excited again but then ... why didn't we get an extra episode? The ending was rushed. It would've been nice if we got to see the lovely characters ended instead of having a prophesy telling us their ending.

I binged the first seasons shortly before the fourth season came out and its cancellation. It was intriguing and although some of the storylines were not quite like the history itself, it was a great show. I enjoyed Catherine and her antics, Mary and her resilience and Bash was just all round dreamy. The show prompt me into researching the history of Mary Stuart as well. I miss this show!!
