This show has gone from a ten for me down to a one. The repackaging of Jay Glazer and Micheal Strahan basically "Titaniced" this show for me. When the show first came on I found the concept unique and interesting along with the interesting assortment of athletes that you would see such as Goldberg, Coutere mixing in with Jerry Rice, etc. and what I found most interesting was the commentary by that hilarious first host Papadakis. The concept was great for the first four season then they brought in Glazer and Strahan and instead of the interesting assortment of athletes you had basically the same athletes every second episode and it seemed forced instead of the spontaneous feel it had the first four seasons and the last seasons athletes seemed to be very boorish. In the first four seasons one always wanted the pros to show up the braggart in the competition but in the last season the athletes were jerks along with the contestants and unlikeability of both sides makes the viewing suffer. A good show gone bad for no reason !!!!!!
... View MoreI love the concept of Pros versus Joes you really understand how its both the fan and the players who can be arrogant. But cm-on going across the middle against Romanowski would have been terrifying 7 years ago and covering jerry Rice would have been impossible 6 years ago. Many of these guys are out of their primes which in sorts (almost)deprives the Joes a confident win. The battles between the had and haves vs. the could haves make it all the more fun, as one side tries to prove the other inferior. But hey my favourite part is no one can come close to out-homering Bo Jackson still, at almost age 45 with a hip replacement, until he decides to bunt ha ha. solid idea and great viewing whether your a fan or not, retro or young.
... View MoreI am NOT a sports guy. For all I know, the shortstop isn't supposed to tag the center guard for a field goal. I despise 90% of reality TV with a passion. Pro's Vs Joe's comes together to form a creative and entertaining series that just about anyone can enjoy. Its nice seeing the big names from yesteryear come back for a few minutes of glory and giving the average guy a chance at bragging rights..(and the 20k pot doesn't hurt either). The banter that goes on in the Pro's locker room and on field is hysterical and much of the material seems to be "on the spot" rather than pre-written. Its a unique mixture that focuses more on the competition and team play rather than the sports themselves (or gaudy special effects) and is lightly flavored with just the right amount of trash talk. I have to say seeing Goldberg pick up a golf club and yelling "Take That B**tch!" was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. This is definitely one for the DVR/Tivo and I look forward to future episodes.
... View MoreThis is a great series for all sports fans! Get to finally see what it would be like if a normal guy played against a legend of the game. Although it is biased towards American sports, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching Jerry Rice, Dennis Rodman, Bo Jackson and the rest against average Joe's was truly entertaining. It works by having the Joe's compete in events against the Pro's, in the Pro's own game! Each week a set of different pro's are chosen to take on the Joe's ! Sometimes, it doesn't matter if you aren't even into the sport like Decathalon or Women's Softball, it's just plain funny to see the Joe's being embarrassed or embarrassing the Pro's.
