The enjoyment of this show relies much on the natural charm and charisma of the Scott brothers. If you like them, you'll probably like the show. The identical twins are good looking, energetic, humorous, and good with often difficult homeowners. I love them! Those homeowners though... I don't know where they find some of these people or why they select them for the show. The Property Brothers have been on TV for a while, so it should be obvious to everyone what they do and how they do it. However, just about every episode includes homeowners who:* Want to buy a move-in ready house with no renovations needed (rendering Jonathan useless, I guess). * Want a house way out of their price range (a quick look at real estate listings could have told them that). * Are super picky and controlling about every little detail (then why call a TV show that involves someone designing and renovating your home?).It gets to the point where I think the show's producers just want to generate drama for the show by selecting homeowners that will butt heads with the brothers. If it weren't for the lovable brothers, I would not bother watching this show. I would be happy to call them, and they can design my house however they want! I won't even fight them over backsplash tiles.
... View MoreI love this show!!! I watch new shows, tape new ones to make sure I don't miss them and watch repeats. I like these young guys, they seem to do great jobs understanding what people want and getting it done. The renovations they do are great!!! All of their renovations are so unique. I like watching shows like this and do watch several others from time to time, but this is the only one I try not to miss and will watch over and over. I like watching how they can show buyers the potential in the homes and then seeing the finished homes because they are always so close to the technical vision they show the buyers. What they do for fixer-uppers is nothing short of amazing !!!
... View Morelove the show. the vision and the work. everyone does a great job!! it seems that they are showing less of the reno work lately~ which was also interesting. oh yeah, i agree , they are cute, sometimes annoying~so its good that they are cute (and savy)! i would like to see why certain design features were incorporated, particularly when it was not budget or layout related, especially when the owners did not specify. an example would be color choices for cabinets ,counter tops, textures for fireplace faces and flooring. finally, jonathan needs not to be so annoyed when people change their minds or add things. often he finds unforeseen obstacles (that should have been expected) and he expects the owners to understand and give up some of the design features. it goes both ways. unless jonathan is just being dramatic.... again.
... View MoreProperty Brothers is undoubtedly my new guilty pleasure!! I've been watching home renovation shows for awhile, but this is the first show that consistently leaves me wanting more (I'm even hooked on the reruns! LOL)! Jonathan & Drew are so down-to-earth and bring a great balance of humour while showing how buying a fixer-upper is feasible to most any budget. I've learned more about the process watching them then I have with any other show and laughed along the way too. I love how they detail out the costs, and when adjustments are made also show areas where the savings happen. My biggest struggle is fighting the urge to take a sledgehammer to my rental house! I've loved every episode...there is no way to pick a favourite! Way to go guys....can't wait for Season 2! I'm hoping when the time comes, I'll be able to work with the guys to get the home of MY dreams!
