Normally, I am incredibly bored by the espionage genre, but when I saw the artwork for PATRIOT and the expression on Dorman's face?Throw in the magic words 'mid-level employee' + 'Midwest' + 'piping firm' and you have a brilliant premise to either fly straight into the ground or, make it something unique and incredible. They went for the latter. For a show with some long pauses and scenes without dialogue, this is one of the most tightly written and edited shows I have ever come across. If I had gotten to the tenth episode and found there was no season two I would have been incredibly disappointed not to see more of the sad man in the suit.
... View MoreThis is the most nonsensical program I've ever seen. I got all the way to episode two and it's just gobbledygook. Everything said it is is kind of loose associations. If someone says Lincoln, the next person is going to talk about Lincoln Nebraska or, Lincoln on the penny. Or Lincoln as in Lincoln logs. The repartee is just so awful that you can't discern the plot. If you have a TV in your barn for the animals, they might understand this.
... View MoreThis show is bizarre. John Lakeman is a unique interesting character. He never fails to make you laugh, feel for him and love the character. The best moments are the long shots of the excretion on his face of depression and unhappiness. The songs are quite good and i have added multiple to my playlist. The cast is amazing and i cannot wait for the second season!
... View MoreBUT this is the most original thing i've seen in who knows how long. I've written maybe 2-3 reviews that I can think of since using/joining IMDb 15-20 years ago. This show has realistic feeling all over, and as a instrumentalist, it's always refreshing to see the actors actually playing their instruments. I'm not sure if the main character was singing, but he and Terry O Quin were definitely playing their guitars and Terry was definitely singing for real. The 2nd episode is kind of boring, but it picks up and all the great stuff from the 1st episode ensues....God damn what a hidden gem, can't believe this show is from 2015 and it's flown under the radar. Less than 60 reviews and it's almost 2018?!
