Bravo, the network that brings us "The Real Housewives of New York" and "Million Dollar Listing, New York", also offers a parody of those who populate the exclusive world of their other shows. "Odd Mom Out" is a comedy created by and starring Jill Kargman, who plays Jill Weber--a member of the 1% living among the .01%. Her husband (Andy Buckley as Andy Weber) is a partner (one of 115) in his firm and their life is financially comfortable, but they constantly confront the crustiest of the upper crust, who look down their sculpted noses at them.Kargman is expressive and enthusiastic in the lead role--a mother of twins who is sometimes seduced by the allure of the nouveau vacuous, but she manages to save her edgy soul. The always enjoyable Joanna Cassidy plays Candace Von-Weber, mother to Andy and his brother, Lex (Sean Kleier). They, along with Lex's wife Brooke (Abby Elliot), embrace the struggle to be among the cream of society, even amending their last name to Von-Weber for its genealogical cachet.Jill's ally in maintaining disdain for the status faux is her sister, Vanessa (Kristen Glick)--a 39 year old physician who does not know what she wants but knows it is not the parade of short-lived and shallow encounters she has with men.The writing is clever and filled with one liners. The juxtaposition of quirky-normal and Stepford Wives-superficiality reminds me of "Suburgatory". This is an adult show, so its brand of humor reminds me of "Teachers". If you want to laugh at those who are on the curve of every hip new craze--from pocket pooches to designer gravestones--tune in.

There are some shows that you only watch 5 min and you know it's a total gem...this is it! It is refreshing and even though the plot/scenario (odd mom trying to survive a bunch of rich snobs) is done over and over...the jokes are incredibly funny and new! the casting is also fabulous, great chemistry and interaction between everyone. I know some people weren't pleased with the female lead and found her annoying...but I think she is suppose to be like this...chirpy and all over the place, scattered attention and trying to catch up to rich society. Please give this a try!

Well, that's a nice surprise. I only saw the pilot but this seems like a good comedy. Lots of pluses not any actual minus.First of all, I prefer comedies that lack the awful fake laugh track (just wrote a review for another new comedy that has it). Odd Mom Out hasn't got one so that's something I endorse. It's about the lives of some ultra-wealthy wives and moms, who live in Upper East Side New York. What they have in money they lack in other areas, so the series presents them more like caricatures. You know lacquered socialites, that only know about fashion and nose-jobs and charities. Women who think that are better because of their ...husbands wealth. It sets up nicely so far with the introduction of another female character who is actually an ER doctor, to give some contrast. The humor seems good. Witty and refreshing and satirical. And I'm starting to give credit to the direction too.Jill Kargman plays a version of herself as I'm reading. She is OK to her role, so far.Overall: Seems good. I'll keep watching.

I kind of stumbled on this show. Decided to check the pilot out. Boy, was I amazed. It was really really funny. You do not need to see four of five episodes to evaluate characters. All the characters reveal themselves completely in the first episode itself. The lead character is wealthy but not wealthy as her husband's brothers family. Even though she does not want to compete with them, it kind of keeps happening. This show has a lot of potential. It had a great pilot.I enjoyed it a lot and I hope you will too. The acting was nice and writing is decent. I hope it will get better and better and give us some laughs.
