You need to know that most stories on this show are fiction. On IMDb, the show is not classified as "documentary", and that's for a good reason, it is not! People watch it thinking they are going to get "the real stuff", then they get disappointed that they didn't, come here and trash the show one-star. That's not very mature, and surely it's not useful. The show has lots of ups and downs from episode to episode, that is, some have better acting than others, some have better stories than others and so on. It's not an even show, so it's actually difficult to rate it.For me, it doesn't matter if the stories are true or fiction, I simply don't like this format (interviews intertwined with action and all the drama is just too boring, if not annoying). What I've notice, though, is that people that like this format, like it because they think the stories are real, so, if you are one of those, stay away from this show, because it's like a found footage film, total fake, disguised as a true-to-life story, and even if you come to like one episode or another, you will get disappointed when you find out the plot was pure fiction.

Real or not I was entertained and drawn in. If i want real I go ghost hunting. Nothing can capture that feeling. Watching shows like this inspires me and pumps me up. Paranormal witness is a good one.dead files is good because the histories are real. But nothing beats the real thing. Get you a voice recorder and Google haunted spots locally and find out foot tottering

firstly the actors are extremely contrived, if this was authentic they wouldn't all speak in the same scripted voice. At first i thought they might just be coached but after several episodes its like the same narration by 'real people' over and over again. Some stories seemed a bit too.....yep Im a good investigator and even with name changes i am usually able to get details of incidents, some which would have been reported on. I searched high and low and could not validate them. I am definitely a believer in the paranormal so its not like i am skeptical. Its really annoying because its being touted as truth. This show is fake in my opinion. Its disappointing, I've stopped watching it.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt the need to for this show.I started recording this show on my DVR a few days ago. The "promo commercial" or whatever you call it, played the show up and made it sound really interesting. I wanted to check it out so I set it to record to watch it later. I've been watching it for the last several days and I had a passing notion that the show may not be showcasing legitimate stories, after the episode: "The Boy Did It & Frozen Forest." In that episode, the father goes in to speak to his son about whether or not he pushed his sister out of the window, the boy is supposedly under the covers and it turns out he's really under the bed. That tale comes from those short little horror stories you can Google or find on Pinterest, but I thought maybe this story (the one in the show) is where the short story came from. However, the moment I really realized this show was fake was when I was watching the episode: "Hazel & House of Sacrifice." There were three people telling the story and I recognized the young girl, "Hazel," who's now grown up. A few months or more back I watched a movie called "Avengers Grimm." It's a B movie about fairytale characters getting vengeance on Rumplestiltskin for ruining their happy endings and one of the main characters, Snow White, was played by a woman named Laura Parkinson (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3034692/?ref_=nmmd_md_nm) and I realized they were the same person.I must admit to being irritated by the deception. I would have been perfectly okay with the stories being fabricated for entertainment value, but I personally don't appreciate being deceived by the title screen claiming that the stories are "based on" true events and that the "names have been changed to protect identities." The show is using the title sequence to sell the viewer a fake "true paranormal happenings" show, instead of being upfront and saying the stories are fictional. The stories are interesting, but they lose that interest the moment they begin lying to their viewers.
