I watched this tv show, and its extremely underrated. Great characthers development, and the plot is the best you could made out of a videogame fantasy type of plot. You got Kung Lao, Siro, and Taja, in the classic representation of id-ego- superego that is present in almost every tv show that has 3 protagonists. The psichology behind every episode is complex, and it treats themes like treachery and trusting, sexuality, inner peace, ambition, search for power and the list goes on. The fight scenes are kung fu wire oriented, very far away from the mma types of fights from modern movies, but depicting elements of Karate, Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Taekwondo, be prepared for some wrists locks and lots of flying kicks. The ending is suberb. Stop reading here if you want, because SPOILERS, but it has elements of the baptism scene of Godfather, yes, you read that right, im comparing it to Mario Puzo's classic, in a very unusual plot twist, the bad guy, Shao Khan kills every one of his enemies. The evil won at the ending of this tv show, and in a great fashion.

The stories of the game characters were well told in general and Kung Lao, like the non-game characters Siro and Taja, was great and charismatic, Shang Tsung stole the scene as villain, Shao Khan was a caricature of the game character, Scorpion's new origin was a disaster and it was very worse not having any relation with Subzero (they are deadly enemies in the game), Raiden was a perfect adaptation of the game character and the lesbianity between the reptilians was an outstanding bait to attract the teenage public, but it suddenly ended with only one season, and with all the heroes dead and the evil triumphing! I hated this end!

Let me start by saying I'm not a MK fanboy. years ago I saw the first MK movie and I found it highly entertaining. Then I learned of the existence of Conquest and I went to have a look see.The first thing you notice is that it'll all kinda... shoddy. It's made on a budget apparently. Either that or some producer now has a marble patio. No matter. Conquest looks and feels kinda crappy but boy is it entertaining. It starts out slow. I was scratching my head when I saw the cardboard Outworld arena and the choppy acting. I told myself I'd give it 3 episodes to prove itself. Imagine my surprise when in episode 2 one of the nicer characters pops in.Then as it went on, it got better and better. The acting improved, oneliners became quite epic, scenarios became better and before I knew it I was kinda hooked. The story actually sucked me in.Conquest is one of those series that is made by people with a lot of passion and little money. But it doesn't matter. it's very entertaining to watch and it only gets better and better as the show goes on. The fight scenes are sometimes a bit crummy but some of them are downright cool. Especially everyone's favorite ninja cousins put up 1 hell of a show(I'm looking at you, Rain) The special effects are sub par but let's be honest: it's about the hands and feet anyway. Not the fireballs. So yes, It's definitely very good fun to watch. Grab some beer and popcorn. Lean back, chuckle at the few forgivable flaws and have fun.Series 2 got cancelled. Damn. I'd have loved to see another season of this budget-fun.

I like the conquest series, but confused when my friend said Raiden & Shao Khan character was done by a single person "Jeff Meek" is that true.I would say the series is bit dragged needlessly but did enjoy most of them.No Idea what happened to master of SHang after he was re provoked. What happened to Subzero, their story got over after Sub zero vs. Scorpion. The black dressed devils of SHao Khan kills most of the sorcerers easily if thats the case why didn't they represent Shoa Khan in any of the mortal Kombat fights. In certain parts the story writer looks really confused.
