OK so my family adores this show and find it hilarious but here's the thing I have an older family 'teens' I think anyone over 11 would love it the perfect ballence of time with family and comedy if your kids can tolerate sexual humor and swearing some times 'ps the young lady who plays sam is really quite pretty and funny may appeal to young boys lol' but if you can relate to family comedies but hate 'modern family; this is the show for you its very true to life in my opinion and never fails to make me smile at least once an episode I highly recommend it ps I love Samantha 'the grandpa' sophi' the son in law' almost everyone is lovable

I'm a hard person please when it comes to comedy but Life in Pieces has me laughing out loud. The cast is perfect...the writing is brilliant. Haven't seen James Brolin in anything for quite a while & never knew he was a natural comic. Colin Hanks is just as versatile in his comedic talent. I don't it would do him justice to compare him to his Academy award winning father but to say that he has inherited his father's talent is an understatement. This ensemble of brilliant performers gets it right. Guest appearances only add to the enjoyment. The subject matters that are dealt with hold so true to life & that makes it even more enjoyable. So glad I stumbled on this TV show...especially since I've been hit by a horrible flu & this has definitely lifted my spirits.

We have been watching on Netflix, and my wife now terms this her favorite show. Very imaginative, 4 different mini episodes per episode. She was devastated to see there was only 1 season, until we found on IMDb the second season still being produced. Hopefully Netflix will pick the second season up as well.

The previews of this series looked good. One short clip being quite funny. A couple of the interactions between cast members made both myself and my wife laugh. Unfortunately, that's where the funny ended. The show itself is crass and attempts (and fails) to rely on 'base' humour. There is nothing funny in this show that I have seen yet. It's a knock-off of another unfunny show, Modern Family. Where Modern Family fails, Life in Pieces fails more, despite a great cast of excellent actors. The use of various body parts as a source of humour should even not be part of any show, yet Life in Pieces relies on this as it's main source of jokes. Situations that don't bear any resemblance to reality are also featured heavily. Again, failing to deliver even the mildest smirk from myself or my wife. We finished the show (unfortunately) and retired to sleep completely disappointed with the latest 'big hit' from the land of rubbish. The last good show to come out of Hollywood was MASH, we have since had to endue dribble.Had IMDb enabled me to rate this as a zero, that's where it would be. That's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I don't recall enjoying a show less. I may sue.
